Just bought a used 1995 Honda Prelude and the Tach and speedometer work along with the clock but I can't see any other gauges. (Gas, oil, temp and whatever else might be there. What is the problem?

Wasn't that simple i'm afraid. Tach, Speedo and clock work fine but no gas gauge, oil or temp gauges are lighting up. Could it be a fuse?

Since you just bought the car, I thought that you might not be aware of the instrument lighting control. I apologize if you know this:
The dial on the dashboard to the left of the instrument panel controls the brightness of the instrument panel lights. Turn the dial to adjust the brightness.
To reduce glare at night, the fuel and temperature gauges dim when you turn on the parking lights or headlights. You then adjust their brightness when you adjust the instrument panel brightness. Turn the dial up as far as it will go to return the fuel and temperature gauges to their daytime brightness.
Hope it's that simple.

My speedometer,Tach, Gas guage, temp guage, windows all lost.

That smoke came from some wires that shorted and melted. Take the car immediately to a shop and fix the wiring loom, it can burst into flames at any minute now.

How to find a short in my wiring harness for a 1989 honda prelude? The fuse blew and now my tach, gas gauge, clock and blinkers don't work I put a higher amp fuse in and it lasted about 5 days and blew...

at least you know were to start, key on the fuse that blew.and everything controlled by it.i'm assuming that every time you replace the fuse now,it blows .think back before the short, was there any electricial problems,or devices that didnt work.,wires are melted together,or motors are shorted out.putting a bigger fuse in probably burnt a wire open(meaning got too hot and broke)whatever blew the fuse to start with,is most likley where the meltdown is ,start unplugging the things on that fuse, one at a time, remove tail lightbulbs, inspect thre sockets, look up under the dash at the wiring ,your clock, tach.and gas gauge ,are there, observation is almost 90%of trouble shooting anything .fixing it is easy pop the hood spend some time just looking at every thing follow wires make sure they arent melted together ,and are plugged in,just unplugging something and plugging it back in will show problems, things will fall apart.clips will break and hopefully you will see something obvious, shorts are never fun,do you have any electrical background?and know how to use a multimeter .if you do reply ,

1994 honda prelude vtec speedometer tach problem

Possible speed sensor. I know the speed sensors are a problem with hondas. A new speed sensor is about $200 and can be easily replaced. It bolts to the top of the transmission on the firewall side. Do NOT buy an e-bay one. They are only about $30 but are junk

95 prelude -- dash lights for speedometer and tach are out

Just fixed this myself. I found a used USDM meter/gauge out of a 1995 SI on EBAY for $200. However, I have a VTEC engine that redlines at 7500 RPM and the SI's redlines at 6500 RPM. Easy to fix by swapping the face plates inside of the meter/gauge. If your issue is the bulbs they cost a lot... around $250 each. But if your lights went out simultaneously then the bulbs are not the issue... it's the power supply where the bulbs plug into and that's located behind the drivers dash speaker (very easy to remove with only two screws holding it in). This part is more expensive at around $350, but cheaper than buying two bulbs. Scroll through every page of honda prelude listings on EBAY and you may just get lucky like I did. Hope this helps.
