Looking at an exploded view of your carburator in my Chilton book it would appear to me that the accelerator pump hooks to the throttle linkage on the opposite side from the throttle cable. On that end it shows a small plate that screws into the throttle shaft. This plate has 2 links attached to it, one of which should line up with a hole in the side of the main body. You will probably have to push the pump down by hand to line up the hole in the bottom of the pump arm with the hole in the body and attach the linkage.
There is no specific info in the book regarding this, just the diagram. Hope this helps.

if the carburetor keeps flooding out, the float could be stuck in the up position. tap lightly on & around fuel reservoir to free. depending on age of carburetor, you might need to put in a carburetor kit.

I just replace the fuel pump, filter and carburator on my 1983 plymouth reliant.it will turn over and start but wont say started what could be the problem

Possible float is sticking in carb. Tap side of float bowl with screwdriver and see if that helps. If not, I suggest checking the float level and make sure it is adjusted at the right height.

What is it when I am going up hill and step on the gas the truck starts cutting out?

Inside your carburator is a mini gas tank (float bowl) that keeps a specific amount of gas in reserve to accommodate changes. It isn't getting enough gas. The most likely culprit would be the fuel filter, so get it changed first. If that doesn't make the problem go away then the fuel pump is likely getting weak and not pushing enough gas into the carb. You can get it tested before you change it to make sure. If it tests good or you change it and still have the problem you will have to get the carburator taken off and rebuilt. Over time there will be a certain amount of crud acumulate in the float bowl that is interfering with gas delivery or it's also possible the float has become "waterlogged" and is not keeping gas at the proper level. Rebuilding carburators is not a job for rookies. It may cost more up front to have it done by a shop, but it will save you a lot of grief in the end.Hope this helps.

[email protected] do i identify my carburator 1984 2.8 chevy s10 blazer

GM uses an eight digit number to identify their Rochester carburators. It should be stamped into the metal on the float bowl area. It should be on the linkage side. If it is the original carb on the truck it will likely start with the number 1708---- or possibly 1707----. Any time I went looking for the carb number it usually took a few minutes to locate and read it. They didn't exactly kill themelves making it easy to read. Take a rag and wire brush with you to clean off the grime as well as a can of spray cleaner or penetrating fluid. A flashlight would be a big help too. You need this number to order rebuild kits and to set it up after. Hope this helps.

The diaphram can tear, but when this happens it typically leaks gas into the crankcase. Is there gas in your oil? If no, recommend you take the float bowl cover off and see what's going on when you start it. Please let me know if you have more questions.

Fuel pump is pumping fuel to carb, but no fuel going into carburator. can dump gas directly into carb and car will fire up. is there some kind of pump not functioning inside carburator

there is a float valve. There may also be a filter on the inlet. First check for filter, then remove top from float bowl to see why fuel isn't flowing in. You may want to get a rebuild kit. they aren't expensive and they usually come with instructions.

Were is the float chamber on i honda civic

The float chamber is in the underside of the carburator if this is a carburated car.
If the float is in fact shutting off the fuel to the carburator the engine should still run on the fuel in the float bowl. Unless it is a very long sharp turn. Have you tried standing still and just turning the wheel hard to the right and see id the engine cuts out ? If it does you may have an exposed wire that touches somewhere when steering is all the way over to one side.
Hope this helps
