Scannign the PCM in order to know exactly what is the fault code that cause turn on "check engine light"; just with this fault code could send other details; ask your dealer about this.
Has it had the gearbox out? just thinking if it is v6 (two o2 sensors) the plugs may have been put back on the wrong sensors. you wouldn't think that would make a diffrence but I remember reading something about that on some type of vehicle & it was causeing it to fault somehow. Can't realy remember but worth swapping the wires over for a test.
unless you do something to fix the problem , it will come up again
the sensor at fault will be the heated oxygen sensor(HO2S)in the exhaust manifold in bank one
It reports the gas composition to the ECM which then adjusts the air/fuel mixture to correct the lean burn
could be a falling cam sensor or O2 sensor, O2 sensors don't like being cold as it takes longer to heat up and ecu reads it as a fault. cam sensor these fail more when they get hot. dirty MAF/MAP sensor can also affect the engine.
believe me..i had this problem before with my sorento 06. send to garage many time but the problem kept coming after 2 weeks.. but i found my self that whenever ESC light is on ,engine became sluggish. what will you do is to use a cruise control until you reach home. after that..at front passenger side, next to door, open the side cover,,you will see a bunch of cable inside..with your engine on and press the pedal lightly..pull that cables with your hand...and you will found your engine revs.
