DO NOT PUT PETROL IN A MODERN DIESEL ENGINE. Diesel is a lubricate fuel and protects the internal fine tolerance working parts of the diesel fuel system. Petrol is a cleaning agent and removes all the lubricate from the internal fine tolerance working parts of the diesel fuel system this can cause unrepairable damage to the engine. Drain the fuel tank (it may be easier to remove the fuel tank to clean it out properly), all fuel lines and the fuel filter, refill tank and fuel lines and filter with diesel bleed the fuel system including the fuel injectors (I always bleed it back into a drain pipe into a bottle at the return pipe connection at the fuel tank to ensure that all the petrol is out of the fuel system before starting the engine) once started put some good quality diesel fuel cleaner in the fuel tank to make sure the injector tips are cleaned out. Note change the fuel filter again after another 2000 miles of running

What do I do about diesel fuel in an unleaded tank and engine

Drain as much as possible diesel out of the tank and fill up the tank with unleaded petrol. Initially the engine will be difficult to start and maybe run a bit rough but will improve quickly. Diesel will not damage the engine but will have a affect on the first start and running of the engine until all the diesel is washed out of the engine.

Accidentally put unleaded fuel instead of diesel in 2013 D22 drove approx 10k

Drain the fuel out and flush the fuel lines and the filter. Failure to purge the unleaded fuel from the system can destroy the engine due to severe pre ignition.

Put unleaded patrol into 2016 kangoo Diesel engine , didn't turn engine over can this be pumped out or does fuel tank need dropping and draining

Just drain . After drain use 1 gallon diesel to rinse and drain again. You should be okay.
But if you run the car for couple minutes then it's better to flush the whole system.

Good luck

Unleaded gas in a diesel fuel tank

do not worry about draining it, pour about 6 to 8 ounces of engine oil in it, and top it up with fresh fuel, it will be fine. The only way to drain the tank is to remove it and turn it over.
