SOURCE: 1997 lincoln Continental serpentine belt change

you need to find which pulley is the belt tensioner. use a socket and a breaker bar to lift the tensioner. once the belt loosen, slide the belt off one of the pulleys close to you. then slowly release the tensioner.

4.6l engine. What is firing order?

Found this firing order.
As far as the sensor, you talking about 02 sensor? Bank one has the number 1 cylinder, bank 2 is the other bank, sensor 1 is the first sensor you come to, in the exhaust.

2002 malibu 3100 engine i need number 1 thru 6 cylinders

The engine is mounted transversely (sideways)-the front of the engine is on the passenger side where the serpentine belt runs. On the backside bank, bank one, closest to the firewall, are cylinders 1-3-5, from front of engine to rear. So number one cylinder is on the back bank, and nearest to the passenger side of the car (bank simply refers to which side of the engine on a v6 or v8, bank one or bank two. Bank one is always the side where the #1 cylinder is located, and bank two is the opposite side.) On the front bank or radiator side, bank two, the cylinders are 2-4-6, front to back of engine.

The firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6, easy to remember.

Were is the starter on my 1998 Lincoln continental.I can not seem to fine it on my car

The starter will be located down near the bottom of the engine, right at the place where the transmission and the engine are mated. The starter is bolted to the engine block, so the starter gear is positioned so it can engage the flywheel at the back of the engine. On most cars with transverse mounted engines, it will be on the front side of the engine closest to the grille. On rear-wheel drive cars, it is usually mounted on the same side of the engine that the battery is on. You can usually follow the positive battery cable down to the starter.

How do i replace coil number 6

There should just be one metric screw to remove,
that holds the coil, something like 7mm socket

#6 would be on the engines left side, second front the
front of the engine,if transverse mount the engines front,
not the cars front

A Code for a coil may not be the actual fault or coil as the
code

Your best to have a professional scan tool put on the car
& go for a road test in Mode#06 & look at cylinder misfire
counts to ID the problem
