I have 2002 Jeep Liberty (Sport) - won't start!

I have 2002 Jeep Liberty (Sport).
I drove my vehicle home with no problem. I stopped home for about 20 minutes and then went to drive my Jeep again. It wouldn't start.
- The engine is not turning over.
- The keyless entry (remote) device doesn't seem to be working, ie will not lock doors, but did open the hatch on one occasion.
- First, when I turned the key back, nothing happened at 1st and then gradually the odometer display came on and then the radio.
- As well, at first I could here a continuous "activation" of the lock in the hatch for no reason. It gradually stopped.
- I turn the key forward and the various lights display. First, as normal, but now the (MIL - malfunction indicator light) blinks for 10 seconds. The battery light is also coming on after initially going off.
- Again, when I turn the key the whole way to start, no response from the engine.

What is happening??
- Fuses?
- Computer (ODB) problem?
- Need to boost battery?
- other?

Thanks in advance!

Found this online: "I had the same problem a couple of months ago and I believe it turned out to be the solenoid that releases the real glass. Apparently its either damaged or just worn out to the point that it was causing a constant 12 volt draw which ravaged the battery to the point of no recovery, on top of that I think my radio got damaged because it power cycles just about every 30 secods, I don't loose any settings or the clock but if I am playing a cd the whole cd will start over from the beginning. That problem actually happened to me twice I have an 02 liberty sport."

Your security system could have a problem, replace battery in keyless remote. If not helping you may have to take it somewhere and have security system checked

2002 jeep liberty sport will not start. It won,t even turn over. drove it yesterday no problems. after 1 hour tried to start didn,t work Can you help?

Have you tried to jump started ? If your jeep starts when giving it a jump, you may have a bad battery. Check fuses for fuel and ignition systems. If your battery is bad, could be because the alternator is not charging it. Might want to have this component tested.

2002 jeep liberty sport just died, worked fine 10 seconds earlier

You can check fuses using a test light or (better) a volt meter. This is done by probing the back opening at each end of each fuse while the negative lead of the meter is connected to a good ground. any fuse that shows power only on one side has failed. Some fuses will only show power with ignition on. Check all grounds as well, sounds like you may have a loose connection somewhere or a bad control module (why clicking was heard)
