You can take a new transponder key(s) (dealer issue for current lockset) and remote(s) (ebay) to the dealer for a complete reprogram. Whomever stole your original will still be able to get in your car, but will not defeat the alarm system nor be able to start the car. The alternative is to replace the locksets as well and nobody has the cash for that.

With proof of ownership your local dealer should be able to cut you a new key off of the VIN number.

My car thinks it is being stolen 2008 Ford Fusion anti theft has disabled ignition. Tried disconnecting the battery; remote entry with ikt; using key to unlock; hit panic button and turned it off with...

Hi Eileen , How do you know your having a anti-theft system problem ? Any lights flashing when you try to crank the vehicle ? The engine does not crank over ? If it is a anti-theft system problem ,disconnecting the battery is not going to do anything except lose some learned setting's in some control modules . There are a few thing's you can check but if none of these are the problem your going to have to have it towed to the dealer ! It'll need to be checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes !
PATS disables the vehicle from starting if there is:
  • a damaged PATS key.
  • a non-programmed PATS key.
  • a non-PATS key (key has no electronics).
  • damaged wiring.
  • a damaged transceiver.
  • a damaged instrument cluster.
Inspection and Verification
  1. Verify the customer concern.
  1. Visually inspect the following for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.

Visual Inspection Chart Mechanical Electrical
  • Large metallic objects, a second passive anti-theft system (PATS) key on the same key ring as the PATS key, or electronic devices on the key ring that can be used to purchase gasoline or similar items
  • Ignition lock cylinder
  • PATS key
  • Use of a non-PATS key or incorrect PATS key
  • More than one PATS key on key ring
  • Remote start system installed
  • Smart junction box (SJB) fuse(s):

You may not know where some of these things are located !

My handheld remote is not working. I have replaced the battery

Often times when you replace the battery in a remote fob you have to sync it to the car by locking and unlocking the drivers door with the key.
Check your owners manual.

How to program a remote start for 2009 g6 gt

Assuming that your car came with factory remote start, simply go to the Driver Information Center (aka radio) and with the key to on position, press the information button until you see the option for remote start. When you do, and it says OFF, press the Enter button to change it to ON. Shut the key off try your FOB (press and release the Lock button and then press and hold the Start button (top of FOB) until it starts (1-2 seconds). If the lights simply flash instead of starting the car, you either did not set the 'radio' right or you have a more serious problem.
