I need the radio code for the 1993 9000 AREO SAAB

You may have to have it reset with a Tech 2.

Some older Saabs don't actually have a radio code, but displays that message when the battery has been disconnected.

if you did have a radio code, you or the Prior Owner may have written it in the owner's audio manual.

There also may be one stamped on the side of the radio. You'd need to pull it to see.

I'm leaning towards Tech 2 reset due to the age of your vehicle.

Unfortunately with the Saab factory radios, each unit has a code unique to the unit. The sheaf of stuff included with the owners manual included a credit card sized card with the code. That said, dealers can look the codes up for owners who have lost them. Your best shot is find a dealer that's still open and talk to them. Cheers

The code is not on the radio, but the radio serial number is and that is what you will need to get the code for your radio. Just call the saab dealership in your area and ask for the parts department. Tell them that you need the radio code and give them the serial number of your radio. They can look up the code for your radio using that number and give it to you. I had the same problem and the parts department gave me my radio code at no charge.

The codes are not for the Saab but for the radio.
You need to take the radio to a dealer of that brand of radio. There is not just one brand that can be installed by Saab. a Saab dealer can help, but none of us can, because each radio has its own code. But a dealer has the tools to reset it.

sorry but there is nowhere/body to find out what the code is...the first owner could have written it in the service book but "is that too much to ask...."you will either have to replace radio or an i.c.e.dealer may bypass the code for you .

my 1995 saab 900s actually has the code written on the casing of the radio once you pull it out

Saab recommends changing it every 90,000 miles.
