My 95 honda civic started acting weird after I change the transmission fluid and the c.v. axles. It making a loud noise when I put on reverse gear but the forward is ok. I don't know if it because of the defected c.v. shafts or the transmission itself. Can anybody give me some advises? Thank you much.

Jack front end off ground to unload axles , then try going forward and reverse to pin point what side noise is coming from, then disassemble that side for inspection...

Transmission not going into reverse or drive

Bummer, has to be an internal trans . problem, snapped the input shaft or something, however, should make sure it's not an axle. That should make noise tho,but check anyway, like put it in reverse and set the brake and just look under the front and make sure one axle isn't spinning.

I accidently pt my 2000 honda civic in reverse on the freeway it made a loud grinding noise. I shifted bak to drive and made it home with no more noises. When i tried to reverse out of my driveway it made...

you need a new reverse gear. the rest of your transmission should be fine but it will need to be rebuilt because you probably have pieces of the reverse gear floating around in it. it will eventually ruin the transmission if you don't fix it soon.

did you replace or lube the spigot bush or replace the bearing when you had it out if not start there

Tranmission after starting when shift to reverse doesn't move

Hi,
Though I'm not an expert on Hondas, I've been around a few trannies. An automatic transmission generally does not have a drain plug. The pan bolts are loosened and the transmission fluid is drained into a catch pan. A new gasket then applied to the pan and the pan then bolted back to position then new fluid added.
Are you sure of your fluid level? Sometimes a low level of fluid can cause a problem like this.
Hope this helps...
Good luck!

Transmission trouble. fluid looks fine. absolute

It sounds like you might have blown an axle. Especially if there has never been any transmission problems before. You said the fluid looks fine, and by that I take it to mean the fluid is clean and red, and its full. A blown axle will make the click noise, as the splines on the end of the axle are trying to mesh with the splines inside the transmission. The problem could be in the trans., but I'd pull the axles out first and check them, as axles are a lot cheaper and easier to change than a transmission.

1990 honda accord

possibly 2 solutions 1. manual transmission --probably clutch fluid. find out where it is, fill it , and make sure the cap is closed exactly like you took it off. if it's not closed clompletely, pressure won't be able to build up. 2. auto trans-- transmission fluid..note there is no dipstick to check fluid.

What is it???

Make sure the axle is in all the way. The axle will snap in place when it's in all the way. Did you loose any fluid when you removed the old axle? There's a chance that you don't have enough trans. fluid. This will cause the same thing.
