1993 ranger supercab charging guage remains high all the time. When not started for a few days the battery will die.

Seems that you have a power drain. If you installed any electronics check to see if the wire has an open section that is bleeding the system.
Check to make sure that when the glove box closes the light in side goes off. A sprung glove door will keep the light on and will drain a battery in about 3 days.
If you put a trailer hitch on the truck make sure that the grounding is done correctly. Lighting harness to trailer, trailer to truck. A poor ground will cause the electrical leak and drain the battery if the trailer in attached for a few day, less than 3.

What things can i check to see why my four wheel drive is not working Its a 1992 ford ranger with 2.9

If it's shift on the fly 4x4(electric shift) try lightly tapping on the 4x4 electic motor on the transfer case.if if works, replace the motor.water and dirt get into the electric motor, causing it to stick.

I would check the trailer light wiring to make sure it doesnt have any wires that are exposed or touching metal.Odds are that is what is causing the fuse to blow

Trailer lights stop working when tow vehicle lights are turned on

Pull all of the bulbs and try it using a tester to each light. I have seen a bulb that would contact both posts and kill the lights. Hope this helps. Mike

!998 ford ranger stuck in 4x4

sounds like it's the motor is going bad or has a bad connection, try cleaning the connector if there isn't any gunk in the connector, check the manual see if there is a ohmn test you can run on the motor, if not i'd replace the motor.

4x4 will not engage, lights just blink, and you can here clicking

The 4x4 system has a controller,or computer, called the Body Control Module and there will be stored trouble codes. To work on a system that's electronically controlled, you have to get the codes from the system.Every trouble code has a diagnostic route to follow to resolve the faulty component.I have read about Explorers having faulty door open/closed sensors. These set a code in the Body Control Module, and in the process, the BCM inhibits 4x4 operation, causing a no 4 wheel drive complaint. There is also an electric motor on the transfer case that can fail electrically or mechanically, along with speed sensors and fork position sensors that can give trouble.
