Just got my truck (2002 7.3) back from the dealer today replaced an ipr sensor and a cam sensor. When I got to my truck the the key fob wouldn't pop the locks on the doors (thought it must be a dead battery. I went to the bank and when I got back to my truck the radio was still playing. (key removed door closed). I also notice the dome light doesn't come on when I open the doors, but when I shut off the engine dome pops on. Door adjar light is also on. None of this existed when I dropped the truck off at the dealer. I called the dealer and he said it was like that when I dropped it off, (not true) He said he would try and help me reprogram fob over the phone. Truck wouldn't respond to the procedure (on and off with the ignition 7 or 8 times and press any key on the control after locks pop. (locks never popped). He said might be a door adjar switch. ( i bought one for the drivers side and installed) same problems. I also pulled other door panels, tailgate an inspected switches and wiring looking for a short. After thinking about this if it were a door adjar switch wouldn't the dome light be on (its Not). I also checked fuses and found nothing. I'm layed off and out of money can anybody clue me in to the problem. Seems like a ground to me , but I'm just a novice. And yes I checked the grounds at the battery

Back up to the dealer ?if you didnt have these problems before then get it back and talk to the service manager dont start replacing things that can get expensive sounds like a body control module issue? let them reprogram it first ? if they dont make you happy call factory rep he can help ?

I changed out engine with one from a salvage yard now i cannot get it to fire .i changed the crank sensor didnt help . any sugestions

did you use the ecm from the junk yard?,did you change the electronics?did you keep the immobilizer key fob and use it to unlock and lock your doors?,you cant just swap engines anymore, you have alot of other things that go with it,
when the anti theft system was created, the dealers forgot to tell the new car buyers about how much the fob matters to the vehicle, without it,owners are stuck, your anti theft device is activated, you need to lock and unlock your doors a couple times with the key fob,not the key,and then you need to put the key in the ignition and start it,if you dont have your key fob, call your car dealer to get a new one, they are programmed for each car only, you cannot bypass it.if you lost your fob or never had it,whatever, you need to have the exact fob that came with that car from the factory, the key and fob have a chip in them that only go to that certain car,if you do not have it,then you need to buy a new one from the dealer or ebay and then you need to contact your dealer about programming the fob to your car,you might not have to have it towed if they have the documents from the car,the only other way is to get a junk car, with the steering column, key, fob and all computer boxes and door locks and switch them,i just did that with a 98 dodge dakota, and it works.

My key fob stopped working overnight x type jaguar 2002

pop open the key fob from the side and you will notice a watch battery inside the fob, replace it and make sure nothing came unsoldered from the board and that should fix the problem

2002 S-Type. Original key fob is toast. Changed battery and tried to clean up, but it doesn't work at all. Bought a replacement and then learned that only dealer can program. Is this true?

Step1 To program a key fob insert the key and turn to position I.
Step 2 Turn the key to position II and back to I (quickly repeat four times) and you will hear a chime if it was done correctly.
Step 3 Turn the key all the way back and take it out.
Step 4 Now press any button on the key fobs to be added and you will hear another chime. 5. If you have a set of keys for step (4) you have to press any button on two or more fobs at the same time so they both have the same code or else one will work and the others wont.

My 03 7.3 shuts off while driving. It's not water. It is like turning the key off.

Is it throwing any codes? it sounds like a cam position sensor which is a common thing that goes on the 7.3l engine. if it is throwing a cam position code that is the way to go.
it could also be the IPR (injection pressure regulator) you need to have the codes checked an see if there are any history codes indicating if it is one of these. I believe there was a recall on the cam position sensors on the fords with the 7.3's you would need to check with your dealer to find out which years it is.
you can get the codes pull at most auto parts stores for free. hope this helps

Mercedes Benz 2002 C Class 180. Key fob batteries

You have to seperate the front of the fob casing by sliding or prising at the side this will then reveal the batteries. You can get replacement batteries from most garages or your MB dealer (who will probably fit them as well)
