We had a new transmission put in our van. We picked it up and it is now pulling to the right. The told us it was out of allignment. We had it alligned and it is still pulling. The transmission shop is saying that is normal and all honda's do thar. Yeah right! Anyway, I was told by a friend that works on transmission on the side that if it still pulls and doesnt when it nuteral then it is the transmission. They said if a transmission was not put back perfect it could do that. IS that true? we have now pais $2500 and the van pulls and they wont fix it.
No your tranny is fine. Remember though- its brand new and very strong, so strong usually something gets thrown off that is weak, like the transaxle, which is cheaper than you would think. If your suspension is good, this I would check - also, if the tires were off a balancer could have been knocked loose, and if the tire has uneven tread wear on top of that- it will pull - Concentrate on the front suspension, axle, and sterring linkage to be sure you didnt miss anything yourself as well.No such thing as quick and simple when you replace whole portions of the drivetrain. I have empathy for you tho, and wish you good luck. (without seeing it i would say axle, its worn gears from the old tranny, and might have caused the trans problem in the first place.)
Who ever aligned the car isnt very good they should perform it again tell them if you wanted a toe and go you would have a kindergardner do it most alignment guys have a saying set the toe collect the dough i am a master tech and tire pressure should be set before alignment and all 4 wheels should be aligned together if it still pulls after that swap front tires side to side that usually works and ask for a printout of before and after measurements so you can see what was adjusted the vehicle will pull one way or the other when hard on the gas that is called torque steer and is normal but the acr should go straight while driving normally
