Hood latch is jammed on 2000 Stype Jaguar. How do

Miguel, 1993 Buick century hood cable broke. With a flashlight, you will have to lay under car and reach up where cable runs into latch and pull the latch mechanism/lever to unlatch hood. If not comfortable doing this call a locksmith and they will have it open in seconds. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

have another person push down then pull up after you pull the latch.

What you can try is to have someone inside of the car pulling on the latch release while you push the hood up and down. Sometimes this will cause the latch to release..

Replace the hood release cable as it is probably jammed and not allowing the hood latch to return to the correct position

This is because you must depress the brake to energize a solenoid to release the shifter, you must get the hood open. sometimes if you have someone push down on the hood as you pull the lever it will open. if not remove the air dam under the bumper and try to move the latches manually by reaching up with something long. Good luck.

I would have a friend help and one of you pull the hood latch and the other tap on the hood with the palm of your hand you might have to do this more than once but usually works once open oil the hood release with something like wd-40 or pb blaster.

Try and bump the top of the engine or just have some one hold the release latch and lift up on the engine until it pops open.

If your bonnet will not release, there is a rubber plug inside fender located up in
the wheel well under the latch. Remove the plug, stick a screwdriver up and pry the latch
back. The hood / bonnet will open.

Ok, open the door, stand next to the door, pull the hood release while slapping your hand on the hood or have someone else lift the front edge while you pull on the latch..... should get in...

I had a '94 that some idiot at the oil change place left the dipstick laying on the top of the engine, which jammed the hood latch so it wouldn't open.

I happened to have the proper torx drivers for the grille to be removed and after that it wasn't much of a problem to release the latch.
