Could be universal joints if rear wheel drive , you can physically see by checking the drive shaft at each end. If its that bad it will fall. Also could be tires out of balance
Yes, they are. It is called a split diagonal system. One separate part is the passenger front and driver rear. The other separate system is the driver front and passenger rear. The reasoning behind it is that if a leak or problem develops in one system, the other will still operate brakes on the other system, and there will still be braking action on both sides of the vehicle.
im not sure of your question. ? that is a drive shaft and or propeller shaft, off fist start by saying, what you are doing? we dont know. What is the goal, ???? my guess is, removing the axle carrier from the axle housing? you must remove both axles to do that. here is a 2004 , axles being pulled. (im guessing what you are doing) http://www.fixkick.com/axles/axle_rear_R&R.html
If I'm reading that right? Sounds like the final drive has given up, and split the case for the trans. The sensor that you are seeing hanging down would be the vehical speed sensor.
If that is the case then It sounds like a new/used transmission is needed. Because if the final drive blew up that would send metal throughout the transmission and even if you got it fixed the way it is now it would only last a couple of miles untill something else went bad.
Good Luck, report back if further assistance is needed.
vacumn pod on the front axel is stuck on. Jack up the front wheels spin both tires at the same time and see if the front drive shaft turns. If it does the 4x4 on the axel is engaged. The front drive shaft on these should not turn when vacumn pod is disengaged. YJ's have a split axel on the right side inner axel shaft.
this is not a comen prolbem.has the dealer check the you exhast conver? it could be your ECM computer.some times.witch tell your motor what to do .i would get rid of it.
i assume thru the rear cover? Remove cover and check for spider gear shaft pin being broke. While in there of course inspect all gears but pin most prone
ok have you checked that the tyre pressure is the same on all four wheels or it could be that the rear axel is not being lubricated properly check the bushing.
