I was wondering how to bypass the lockout switch on a 2001 pt cruiser window master switch. The actual button is broken on the switch so the rear windows do not open/close. Only the front windows open/close. So my question is basically is there a way to bypass that button and bridge certain wires to enable the rear windows to operate?

SOURCE: 98 4Runner rear window no longer operates

Open the rear hatch. Pull off the inner trim panel. Look to see if there is a little box with a bunch of wires connected to it. It may be at the lower edge, driver side. Turn the key on. Test for 12 volts at the solid BLUE wire (there is only 1 solid blue wire) that is connected to the box. Is there power? If not, check the 30 amp POWER fuse. If there IS power, this box may be bad. This is the power window relay for the rear hatch. The wiper/washer and the rear window motor power all come out of this box.
BUT:
Check for power & get back to me before you buy a relay box, there are a few other tests I could share with you before we pronounce the relay box bad...

SOURCE: power windows

First off does the window switch on the passenger side? if it does then you may just need the drivers side window switch. The front and the back windows work seperate from each other.

SOURCE: 2001 pt cruiser no heat

did you check the fluid level by removing the rad. cap? Radiator should be full to top. If Chryslers are low on coolant, the heater will not blow warm air.

SOURCE: Can't find control button to open windows on PT Cruiser

On my 2004 PT, there are five switches in the upper center of the dashboard above the radio and heater controls. Top row is left and right front windows. bottom row is left and right rear windows, and the switch below is to disable the rear switches so the kids don't play with them. The switches in the rear are on the back of the center console between the front seats. The dashboard change (for the worse if you ask me) didn't happen until the 2006 models. The child safety locks for the back doors can be found on the front edge of the back doors when you open the front doors. If you found this helpful, please don't forget to rate it.

How do I override lockout on rear windows 2001 pt cruiser

I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you asking how to bypass the lockout for the rear windows, or are you asking how to lockout the rear windows? The window lockout from the driver's control panel should lockout all other windows (including passenger front window). If only the rear windows do not work and you do not have the window lockout feature enabled, the issue is probably not the lockout but something else (a wiring issue or window motor/regulator issue).

Window rolls down by itself and when I start the car. What could be the problem?

Drivers front or rear?

If its the drivers front window the master window switch is the problem. If its one of the other three windows its going to be a little trickier to figure out if you need to replace the individual switch at the door or the master switch.

If its the drivers side rear you can hit the window lockout button on the master switch. If the window stops rolling than its pretty safe to assume the switch on the drivers rear door is bad. If it still rolls down with the lockout on than its a pretty safe bet the master switch is the likely problem.

Just yesterday my passenger windows stopped working ,what could of made them do that

Check the master window control panel on the drivers door. There is probably a lockout switch. It may have a window outline on one end and the same outline with an "X" over it on the other. Press the outline without the "X" and all your windows should work again.

The passenger side window and rear windows will not work is there a fuse for the lockout switch

No, there isn't a separate fuse. If the driver's master control works and the lockout is disabled - then chances are that the master control switch needs to be replaced. All of the axillary switches run through the driver's master switch.

Windows work with master switch but the other 3 windows will not work with individual switch. I think master switch does not unlock passengers windows I think I have to replace master switch. Thank-you My...

I think you are correct, most master switches have a lockout button that can fail. You can try pushing the lockout button many times to see if this restores normal function. Most switches are self cleaning, but if you don't use them they can lose connection...I hope this helps.

Back windows wont roll down on 2001 pt cruiser

The first thing to check is if this car has a rear window lock button as a child safety feature. These buttons are usually located somewhere on the driver's door. Sometimes you push them by mistake and then you think your windows aren't working.

The second think to check is the fuse box. Check your owner's manual for the exact location. There should also be a fuse box diagram. It's possible the the rear windows are on a separate fuse and all you'll need to do to is replace it. If it is a fuse make sure your replacement is rated at the same number of amps as the original.
