My car makes a loud clunking noise( as if dragging a cone) after about 65-70 mph.and stops when the speed is reduced. During the clunking moment, there are no wheel vibrations and runs well at low speed. This problem started about 3 months ago 8 months after the extended warranty expired.
It is a 54 plate and has a high motorway mileage on the clock but regularly serviced. I have of course been back to the Jaguar garage but they have been politely unhelpful
I have recently carried out wheel allignment and balacing and changed rear tyres but the loud noise (which appeares to be coming from the rear of the car) has persisted. I am very concerned that the car might pack up when my wife is driving the car.
I have lost a bit of the supreme confidence I have in driving the car.

Not sure if this is this answer, but I had a problem with a noise under the front end once....turned out to be the cowling under the front bumper....it was broken and it took a high speed to force it down enough to hit the road.
