2001 ford focus engine noise

2001 ford focus 2.0l spi engine with 93000 miles on it...recently had a cylinder 2 misfire so I changed the spark plugs and plug wires. Ran fine for about a week now there is a noise coming from the engine that only happens when you accelerate. It kind of sounds like it is in to high of a gear and it is trying to catch up. I don't think there is any power loss though...

Check you put the same rated plugs in as there are a few different types they are rated from a cold plug to a hot plug which basically means the run better at the set temp

Can you confirm cylinder two is getting spark ?
If it is, it could be something mechanical or the fuel injector.

I have 2003 ford focus 2.0 SOHC SPI with a bad missfire

Yup, been there, done that. Found it was a bad injector. Replaced that one injector the test showed and runs great now. Check engine light should be on though because of this problem. The test will show you which cylinder is misfiring and that is the injector you change. My test showed #5 cylinder. The last # in the code read.

Missing,viborating

Misfire could be a number of things:
a) spark plugs - change them if used over 15K miles - inspect/regap.
b) spark plug wires - change them if over 15K miles - inspect
c) ECM (electronic control module) - test with HEI (high energy ignition) tester.

The vibrating tells me that the engine is running on less than its normal compliment of cylinders - the shaking is produced by the imbalance caused in the engine by one (or more) cylinder(s)
not firing at all.

The "Check Engine" light probably is coming on due the the misfire condition. Go to Pep Boys or
Advance Auto Pats, where they'll tell you (free) your codes causing the "Check Engine' light to be
lit - the code coming from your truck's computer will probably be one or more of:
P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder misfire detected
P0301 - Cylinder 1 misfire detected
P0302 - Cylinder 2 misfire detected
P0303 - Cylinder 3 misfire detected
P0304 - Cylinder 4 misfire detected
P0305 - Cylinder 5 misfire detected
P0306 - Cylinder 6 misfire detected
P0307 - Cylinder 7 misfire detected
P0308 - Cylinder 8 misfire detected
P0313 - Misfire detected with low fuel

I have a 2001 Focus that is showing a #3 misfire, changed the spark plugs and wires and it is still running rough? What next?

had the same thing with my crown vic on the #8 cylinder. changed plugs and wires. still missing. wound up replacing the coil pack. you can check resistence of the coil between companion spark plug towers. ford marks each tower with 2 cylinder #'s. resisistence should be around 10-12 ohms

try a new set of spark plugs if that does not work it might be ignition related, a plug wire or something like that.
