Dear dodmoir,

Ok, if the actuator is faulty, and the dealer can confirm this, then you will need to source the part yourself and fit it if you wish to go down this route, or take it to an approved garage and get them to do this. Which one? Good, im glad you have stuck about, so we need to find you a replacement actuator; so let me see... urrrmmm... here is a place and its good old ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/swirl-pot-/150559601451

check it out, and this is the replacement part you will need if the dealer reckons it is this.

I would also get the cars ECU (computer) checked out, as what this enables is a full list and breakdown of all potential faults within the engine to be identified. This is quite costly to do at some places, but if you shop around your local area you should be able to find a competitive quote.

This forum I have found, seems to yield information that is well worth checking out, and it does sound to me like this is a generic fault with this make and model of car

Please do keep in contact, and I will do more digging around on this one, and will let you know when more surfaces

Hope to hear from you soon

Yours sincerely

SOURCE: I was going to start

Hello, The first thing we need to is see what fault codes are setting. With the doors closed cycle the key from off to on three times ending with it on and watch the digital odometer display. Don't crank the engine, just off to on. The codes start with a P and have four numbers, there may be more than one stored. Write down any that you see and post them here.
Here is a short video of the procedure to retrive codes.

2008 Chrysler 300 Touring. It went dead while driving and now won't start?

Question edited for clarity.

Electronic Throttle Control issue. The car isn't letting to go anywhere

Electronic Throttle Control Indicator

Electronic Throttle Control IndicatorThis is the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Indicator symbol. This light, a lightning bolt between reversed brackets or parenthesis, will illuminate if there is a problem in the electronic throttle control system. It may be seen in red or yellow/amber. As an electronic system, it can sometimes be reset by restarting the car, much or exactly like re-booting a computer.

Before moving on, are you sure this is your symbol?? If yes, then continue on below.
Otherwise return to our main Picture Symbols page and scan again!
If the system and the light do not reset with a restart, the vehicle should be drivable, but your dealer or authorized service center will need to service the system soon.

Note however, that if your vehicle does not operate normally, contact roadside assistance right away.

Where is the etcs control relay located on the 2014 Honda civic

Not sure what kind of work you are doing, but I may save you time. When working on my friends 2014 Honda Accord with electronic throttle issues, you must clear all codes in the engine computer before the electronic throttle system will work again. We spent a couple hours searching for fuses and relays and shorts to figure out why his throttle was no longer working and had lights on the dash. Once we finally cleared the codes, everything worked as it should.

My chrysler 200 electronic throttle control light warning is on and already have the fault codes P2173,P2110, are this minor problem?

Is the car still drivaeble? reset the codes using a tool available at your local auto parts retailer. If they return, seek a good mechanic. If not, okay.
