TEMP GAGE JUST QUIT , AUTO ZONE PUT SCANNER ON IT CODES P0480 AND P0116 CAME UP , GOING TO change the temp gage sender , but i think something else is wrong , find out after i change tsu ,

check for dead short in the temp wire to the sender unit or faulty sender unit
do not confuse sender unit for the gauge as against sensor unit for the coolant control for the ECM and fans

change the temp sender

My info shows the temp sender is not the coolant temp sensor, if wiring is correct. The temp sender is a one wire connector, I believe yellow wire. Take that wire loose from temp gage sender, key on, use a digital multimeter, any voltage on the wire? If not not have to check proper wire colors to and from instrument cluster. The voltage comes from meter fuse. I wouldn't think the fuse is the issue or you would have more than one problem.

Well it can be one of too things the gage or the temp sensor.
its most likely the sensor. The temp sensor is normally mounted with the thermostat housing which is on the top of the engine and has the top radiator hose going to it if you can't see it, try taking off the plastic covers. With the ignition on so all gages are reading go and unplug the sensor the gage should drop back strata way, this tells you that you have the wright sensor there are sometimes 2 one for the gage and the other for cold starting. There is a possibility that the problem may be coursed by a squashed or rubbed throw wire so if you can't make the gage return to cold by disconnecting the wires then start following the wires back along the engine.
I think you will find a faulty sensor is the cores of your problems and should be easy to pick up at any car part place.

Gage failures are very common on this truck, more than likely the gage stepper motor that drives the gage needle is defective.

Likely the temp sending unit has failed. They aren't very expensive. One on 4.0 engine is on the thermostat housing but don't know which engine you have.
Blower problem could be the resistor pack but not sure exactly where it is on yours, it is always on the heater box and generally looks like a flat fiber plate with four wires going to it.

Remove lead from temp sender on engine and ground lead, watch gauge for kneedle movement if it moves to register then remove and replace temp sender unit, if not check power supply to gauge, and related fuses and or grounds...

The problem is usually one or the other.  Both get 5 volts from the engine computer.  If the problem is the gas gauge, you'll have to change the sender in the tank.  Generally, an aftermarket pump/sender unit is $150-175.  Get one and drop the tank to install.  The temp gauge is another matter and it could be dirty coolant.  If both are going nuts together, you'll need a new computer.  Junk units are fine.
