Should be 165432 firing order.
Gm has odd and even cylinder banks.
1--3--5 front to back on driver side.
2--4--6 front to back on passenger side.
Actually my tune-up database manual only goes to 1980, but, a 3.8L should still have the same firing order?

I'm not absolutely sure for the 1978 L6, however the
Standard for most L6's:
Firing Order:
1-5-3-6-2-4
Cylinders:
(back of engine)
........6
........5
........4
........3
........2
........1
(front of engine)
Distributor:
......(back)
.....6....2..(+)-screw
3..............4
(+).5....1
.....(front)
