SOURCE: blower motor speed

You will need to replace the blower motor speed control resistor.

SOURCE: blower motor speed

The resistor is under the dash on the passenger side. You'll have to remove the protective accessibility hatch first & it will be right underneath there. You'll probably need a 3/4 wrench to remove the 2 bolts that hold it in place. If you replace the resistor & it works for a while then burns out, then it's your blower motor drawing too much voltage & that may need be the next thing to replace so it's like catch 22.

SOURCE: Air Conditioner blower motor resistor was replaced

Motor is also energized by a relay. check that and also check that the motor itself is good by running a hot lead right to it. I'm sure you already checked the fuse and know the switch is good?

It is behind and underneath the glove box back by the firewall. No need to pull out the glovebox. You may need to pull the carpet back to get to one of the bolts.

I need a layout for the resistor for the a/c fan speed control in a '99 Malibu

I do not have the diagram for you. but i can tell you how to change it! first, its behind glove box. to make things easier remove the glove box. remove insulating pad from underneath glove box, next loosen and slide the ecm to one side. now you can see resistor and blower motor. resistor is beside blower motor. remove wiring to resistor. take out the screws that hold it in. then pull it out of heater box. have a good day !!

My 02 Stratus heater only works on high. Any idea

Your blower resistor is bad. It controls the mutiple speeds to allow you to go from low/med/high. When it goes bad you get one speed or no speeds....It's about $20-$50 at any local auto parts store. It mounted directly to the speed switch or on the heater plenum unit on the passenger side behind the glove box....

I'm looking for the location of the resistor on the blower motor of a 99 pontiac grand prix

If it is the same as a 2002 Grand Prix the resistor is located on the firewall behind the blower motor up under the glove box. You need to remove the blower motor to get to it.

Blower motor

It's in behind glove box, you will probably have to remove glove box, but a good look up from under will tell you. You did check fuses & resistor right? Did it run for a while on high only?

It's your blower motor resistor that's shot. I just replaced mine. It cost $40 canadian and I replaced it in 10 minutes. It's located under the glove compartment. Just remove the blower cover (2 push pins) and there it is under the blower.

Plymouth Breeze Only Blows on High

Sounds like a blower motor resistor, located behind the glove box in the side of the blower motor housing.
