the transmission also must be matched to torque of engine,

the service manual for the car or even the real transmission is the answers.
one can do a simple check, look at the tranny box.
see if it huge switch at the shirt lever, lever rods.
if non that means it is deep inside the transmissions.
the manual for the transmission will show this too.

go to your KIA dealer ask for the cars service manual
turn to chapter, Transmission and read. (and schematics TCU/pcm)

the diesel may have more powerful transmission there.
ask Kai,what transmission is there or buy the service manual.
