Bought a rebuilt TC it seated properly, put in 7 quarts of fluid, fluid level does not drop when in gear.
Typically when a torque converter "GO's" it disintegrates and sends little bits all thru your trans and stops up the works , you could clean itna still have to disassemble the entire thing , and ive heard of folks cleaning the solenoids (gear selection) blocks before , but I sure don't recommend it , just replace em
SOURCE: stalls when put into gear
Its possible it could be other things causing the problem, but seeing as you've checked most of the likely causes, it is most likely your Torque-Converter. The lockup clutch in your Stator-Fan located inside the Torque-Converter could be siezed, causing the car to stall.
SOURCE: dies when you put it in gear
if its in park or neutral can you rev the motor or does it stumble on itself?
SOURCE: rebuilt transmission 92 explorer wont pump fluid or go into gear
the only way the oil wont go down the tube is blocked unlikely the breather is blocked if u are using a funnel lift it away from the tube to allow air out [ DONT START ENGINE UNLESS U HAVE AT LEAST 5 LITRES OF OIL OR U WILL CAUSE DAMAGE ]
