Check your owners manual. I am not familiar with your exact vehicle, but most all come with an shift interlock override that will allow you to shift out of park without power.

I was driving my lr2 and heard load beep then all instraments went dead on dash, radio and rir still work but when i stopped and put in park throtle stopped working and can not shift out of park.

It sounds like you have a dead battery or a total loss of power in the electrical system, this would be an issue that will require some special testing.

Why battery and engine light on 2009 land rover lr2

Most likely a bad battery. The batteries in the Land Rovers, as well as other batteries, are lasting about three to four years so if yours is now 5 years old, it's probably time for a replacement. Have you tried slow charging it to full capacity or having someone jump starting you to see if the veghicle will crank over? If that works, I'd look at having the battery replaced. I made a lot of short trips with a new 2013 LR4 and the Battery Low warning came on and I had to slow charge the battery overnight to bring it up to correct voltage. The difference between a good and bad battery is only a bit more than a half volt when fully charged,(12.6 or 12.7 volts full vs 12.00 less than 25% charged and 11.9 dead) so if your battery when charged doesn't show above about 12.5 volts it's time for a replacement.

2009 land rover lr2 with dead battery..again

You have a short circuit happening somewhere. Check the battery cables and terminals - is there any corrosion or "lumpy\' parts in the wires? Take the battery to a local auto parts store and have them load test the battery - this will tell if there\'s an issue with your battery. Look at the cable connection points - is there engine grease or "green death" on them ( GD is resistance causing corrosion)? The starter and alternator cables/wires need to be checked too. Insofar as the false notices, you may also have contamination issues with the main computer harness. Using electrical parts cleaner ( spray) will help clean these up - BUT I strongly recommend you get some Dielectric grease to put on all of the connections to reduce resistance and retard corrosion. While checking the cables and wires, feel along the length of them for lumps ( indicating internal corrosion or breakage) Pay special attention to the cables at the battery terminals ( primary location for corrosion). Using baking soda and water will also clean up corrosion, but it takes longer to dry than elect.parts spray ( ether based, usually).
There is also a ground strap that goes from the Chassis to the engine. If this strap is coated in grease or rust/contamination, that will cause your issue too. It will take some time to investigate these things, but it could save you financial headache too !
When you get it to start, I suggest backing it in the garage.
Let me know what you find and I\'ll help you from there.
