2001 Porsche 911 where is data link connector in car

Look under the dash, about where your knee hits when you're in the driver seat. - just to the left of the steering wheel--pretty close to the fuse box you'll find the on board diagnostics (OBD) port.

Deville 2000 DLC does not work

Typically the data link connector gets its power from the cigar fuse. On your vehicle there is a fuse in the underhood fuse block labeled ALDL (assembly line data link).

Where is the button under the dash to reprogram the key fobs

I bought a replacement keyless fob and these instructions came with it - and they worked. They refer to some illustrations but with Haynes manual and maybe some web searching you should be able to figure it out.

1. Turn ignition switch OFF .

2. Use a 3 amp fused jumper wire (two clip leads attached to either side of a 3 amp fuse, or a paperclip works too) and connect terminals at the data link connector as illustrated below (black wire to black/white wire). The data link connector is located on the bottom of dash panel. Connect fused jumper wire between Data Link Connector (DLC) terminals no. 8 (black/white wire) and no. 4 (black wire)

3. Close all the doors.

4. Turn ON the ignition switch.

5. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm it is in programming mode.

6. Press and hold LOCK and UNLOCK on one of the transmitters for 30 seconds.

7. After a 10-15 second delay the doors will LOCK and UNLOCK. DO NOT TURN OFF THE IGNITION!

8. Repeat step 5 for each additional transmitter. (Even transmitters that worked previously must be reprogrammed).

9. Disconnect jumper wire from data link connector.

10.Turn the ignition off and test all transmitters to verify function.
