I think you're over your head here. Take it to a professional mechanic and let her sort it out. Sounds like your alternator isn't putting out the correct voltage.
you will need to change your relay most likely in your fuse box ,,put some glasses on to see the fuse diagram to find your relay ...change it ,,,it is wearing out and causing your fan to kick off and on
Hi Sounds like the fan stopped. First check the fuses. They are under the dash on the driverside up - WAY up under on the left side on the inside of the firewall. If the fuse is good you can check the fan direct. The fan is located in the housing. The housing is on the passenger side of the truck facing the truck. On the firewall you will see the casing. Remove the retaining bolts and remove the fan. Put the test wires on the fan while securing the fan and see if it turns. If not - replace with a new one. If the fan turns with the test wires directly on it - you either have a good fan or a partially bad fan. At this point I would put the old fan back in [ if it turns with test wires ] - then be sure to check the fuse again. Check all the fuses while you're under there. Try this. If it still doesn't work. You will need to pull the dash and most likely repair or replace the main controller. This is a job for a professional. If you want to tackle it - take down your VIN # - go to the Chevy dealer and ask them to give you the repair instructions. Usually they will.
I assume your talking about the fan and not the heat. So thats what i'll go with. It was probably your fan going out, but it could also have been a fuse. I'd check fuse first. If not the fuse your fan is very easy to get to. Right up under the passenger side dashboard there is an access panel for your fan. If you look you will see it. It is round and drops down lower than the rest of the dash. Simply take the old fan out and put a new or used(working) one in and you should be good.
The blower is like a small exhaust fan and most likely the armature coils of the fan have shorted out, stopping the fan completely. You will have to replace the blower fan since repairing it wont be cost effective. A/c fuses are clearly marked so most probably the fuses you checked are the normal ones, cos the A/c fuses are bunched in one location(behind the dashboard of the Drivers side)...............sodeep
The lite came on because the computer saw that there was no power to the cooling fan curcuit. That is monitored by the computer. But to be sure you should have someone read the code for you. Or you can disconnect the battery and it will clear the code. If the lite comes back on the computer is still seeing a problem and you should have it check.
