My heater worked a little bit today when I had the thermostat changed but notice the fan wasn't working and that's why it did not heat the cabin. Now I notice the air compressor is coming on while the heat is on. How do you fix that. The auto repair guy says that is not suppose to come on.

OP is the dash blower dead and silent on all speeds, High too.
is the blower fuse good.?> test it.
that be first.
my guess is you want heat to work
#2 is , is the water temp at 180F and holding, if not there will be no heat, engine hit is first. tests. (blower fixed)
tell more get more
defrost sure does, use A/C, to turn it off.
use non recirc.
use full hot temp
use full blower speed
use non defrost
are both core hoses hot, at fire wall
is the damper working

end hit list

he did for you, that is AMAZING ! free labor, wow, what a gift, your blower fails on not high but lower speeds , most blowers use direct connections on high, no resistor used, that is the big clue on most cars. made. before pulse width modulators.

Well the ac compressor will come on if you have it in defrost mode,if heater is blowing cold ,after you just had thermostat replace ,you could possibly have air in system.now if your heater motor is not working which is called the blower motor under dash it could be the resistor that controls it also these rigs have been known for wire harness problems at heater control unit and the blower motor connector.good luck, mike

THE DASH BLOWER IS DEAD? (In all modes,) x2, defrost runs a/c to dehumidify air, but of defrost is off, the A.C compressor must be off, so your mech, may have noticed that and is correct, if he turned it off, which im 100% sure he did,if ASE tech, if the blower is dead, in dash that be first, no sounds, no air in all modes, there are up to 4 fans on car, 2 on rad, 1 on evap and 1 in dash called a blower, so fan on or off means little, until you say where it is.? ill presume BLOWER IS Silent, on HIGH, if that the case the blower fuse is blown, if not controls failing,if not, blower is bad, see? see that path of logic, for one part, battey to blower? always fix the easy stuff first, nice decode on OP symptoms.

SOURCE: Heater not heating my Jeep

the problem is the air temperture control door (known as a blend door) is stuck or the door's actuator is not working. your engine temp is correct and not the problem.

SOURCE: Heat/AC Blower fan speed only works on High

Alot of people have the same problem with the fan switch and blown bulbs. There really is no fix for this. Jeep really screwed up when designing the heater control assembly. The cheapest solution is to buy another unit off Ebay. Can always go to the dealer but be ready to PAY for there mistakes.

SOURCE: The heat in my 1992 Jeep Wangler is not working.

Hi!
It appears we have an Air lock scenario and you will need to perform a system Bleed.
Park the vehicle on level ground, when cold remove coolant filler cap, start engine and leave to idle, turn heater on full and blower to max. When engine reaches operating temperature watch and listen near coolant filler, keep clear as gurgling and hopefully a boil over should occur. Top up with very warm coolant and wait as it may do it again.
Check for heat inside vehicle if warm replace coolant cap but keep an eye on temperature gauge as the ~Air lock may have moved on from heater matrix/core so proceedure needs to be carried out again from COLD.
If persistent boil ups/over attention must made in the cylinder head
or gasket area, or possibly water pump?

SOURCE: My heater does not work

sounds like you have some mechanical aptitude..... I LIKE THAT!!!! Now....get your hand up to the evap box....after the jeep has been running for a while so it can get warmed upand turn the heater on......you should feel some hot air on the evap box on the mid to upper part...if you do this is good...it means you have a temp door actuator stickin....which is a huge tsb for these vehicles....if there is no hot air on the evap box on the inside of the jeep then get back undr the hood and put your hands on the heater core inlet and outlet hose......should both feel the same hotness...if not then ya have a faulted heater core...try to flush it and replace if necessary..........HOPE I HELPED!!!!

Heat and ac blower sound normal but very little air is moving inside the cabin. What can cause this?

Cabin air filter? Blower motor working on all speeds? Critters building nest in heater box

Why is my heater blowing cold

Most likely it is the heater control valve that shifts air from blowing across your heater core to your air conditioner core.

If your fan works and your car is fairly new..meaning your heater core isn't dirty and full of craap...then it is the climate cotrol valve.
If you are lucky, it might be a thermostat that is bad and blocking hot water from entering your heater core. Bottom line, if hot water doesn't circulate thru that little heater core, you won't get heat.
You might be able to look under the hood and grab the hot water lines that go thru the firewall and feed your heater core. If they feel cold to the touch after engine has warmed up, then you aren't getting circulating water to the heater core. If they feel nice and warm, then the heater core is fine, but your climate control valve has closed off the fan that blows across the core to disperse heat into the cabin

What happen if the thermostat in not working

One of two things could happen, over heat and push anti freeze out the over flow and gauge would peg or fluctuate or radiator fan not running if thermostat open all the time. An open thermostat will produce very little heat from heater usually in a colder climate is where you would notice this.gauge may read normal.

Overheating

There may be air trapped in the cooling system. If no air bleed on the thermostat housing, or right beside it, start engine at cold, remove radiator cap, and let it idle until warmed up and the thermostat opens fully. When at operating temperature, shut off the car, check coolant level, and put the cap back on. See if that removes any trapped air.

Soon as i turn on my heat my cooling fans come on first

It sounds like you do need a thermostat with your heat shut off and the gauge will raise a little then the car doesn't have that heat drawn from it indicating that you most likely do need a thermostat. As far as the fans coming on immediatly that could be a different problem it is most likely the coolant temperature sensor that tells the fan's when to come on. If this sensor says the coolant is hot the fans will come on immediatly. These are seperate problems as the coolant temperature sensor does not have anything to do with the cabin heating system. You should first check the level of your coolant is full, This could also cause your cabin heating system to perform poorly, and may have adverse effects to the engine cooling system. (fans)

2004 Mazda MPV cabin air is just not getting hot enough.

If changing the thermostat didn't work, have the heater control valve checked, it may not be opening all the way to let the coolant circulate thru the heater core fully.

No cabin heat.. windows fogged.. engine runs cold!!

chances are the heater core is clogged and wont allow proper circulation for the heater.i would suggest getting a new one put in and see if that dosent fix it for you.
