Remarkable that you need to do this, but perhaps you have high miles. Changing the chain is easy, but so is getting it wrong. Buy a cheap shop manual for full information and torque specs.

How to adjust timing chain 2003 honda accord

the timing chain is adjusted by an oil pump chain tensioner and is to be renewed at each chain replacement. from this it is hydraulic adjustment and is automatic and does not require manual tensioning

1994 Chevy Suburban K1500 5.7L v8 157 thousand miles.. replacing timing chain on the vehicle and after replacement truck ran steady at 1k RPMs. During idle in park the following day the truck died, re

First you need to retrace your steps...before you changed the timing chain and gears did It run ok ? what was initial problem, next put a fuel pressure gauge on your fuel line and cycle your key on to run pos, dont have to try start, just run and see if you have fuel press during the 3 sec or so pump cycles, should be around i think 35-45 roughly for tbi. so if you have good fuel pressure , then you say you have good spark, then your problem is either ingition or valve timing, did your dist.come loose, did you properly install chain & gears and align timing marks. did you have somethine else a part on it too like intake, dist, ? get back with me I'll try to help you.

I have a 1993 chevy suburban. i have been experiencing a loss of power when on an incline. there is even a rattling at times during acceleration. any suggestions

If you have over 70,000 miles on your vehicle and havent replaced the timing chain/belt yet, I could almost promise you that that is what your problem stems from.

When is the recommended change for a timing belt change?

Ok, first, GM uses a timing chain in its engines, which goes much longer than a belt. With the timing chain, you don't have to worry about changing it until you're having to worry about overhauling the engine. Some people will try to sell you additional shop work, but it's not necessary. These are known to go for more than 400,000 miles with no problems if the engine lasts that long, but are always changed when the engine is rebuilt or overhauled. I currently own a silverado with 120,000 miles on the original timing chain, an s-10 with 210,000 miles on the original timing chain, and a suburban with 135,000 miles on the original timing chain, just for a reference for you. Hope this helped you out.

I have a 2004 Suburban 1500 2wd tire chains

You can install the chains but then you must be sure the chains have clearance so they dont hit the truck. Some of the newer trucks have less room for chains.
With the chains install, lay down under the truck and do a close check on the chains clearance.
It maybe that they hit the truck and cannot be used and/or it maybe the manual is makeing a genaric statement. But you must check the clearance out before you drive anywhere.
I hope this helps you.
