Sounds like the windshield is leaking. Run water over the windshield and have someone get inside car and look for the leak. Alternatively take it to a reputable windshield repair shop and have them check it.
Floor plug or plugs have fallen out most likely.There Should be some plastic plugs under the floor board outside. Look to visualy check to insure they are still in one piece.
A busted heater core will flood the passenger side floorboard when the heat is turned on.
it might be a door/ windor seal or it could be a heating component leaking. im sure that the heater core is on the passenger side but when they begin to leak they cause a localized leak much like your description.
WATER LEAK IN RIGHT FRONT OF PASSENGER COMPARTMENT
Publication Date: January 17, 2006
FORD:
2005/06 Freestyle ISSUE:
Some 2005 Freestyle vehicles may exhibit a water leak at the right front passenger compartment. This may be due to grommet for rear washer fluid line at dash not being fully seated. ACTION:
Inspect windshield washer grommet from inside vehicle under dash and properly seat if out of position. Pull carpet back and reach under bulkhead pad to install. Removal of instrument panel is not required. (Figure 1)
there is a door that directs cold or hot air behind the dashboard in order to make the passenger's side colder or hotter relative to the driver's side.
The a/c door servo may be bad, or the temperature settings for each zone are not balanced. In-vehicle Temperature SensorRemoval & Installation
For the Five Hundred and Montego;
Lower the steering column to the full tilt-down position.
Remove the instrument cluster finish panel screws.
Release the locking tabs on the steering column upper shroud located behind the steering wheel.
Remove the instrument cluster finish panel and the steering column upper shroud as an assembly.
For the Freestyle;
Remove the lower steering column cover.
Remove the lower steering column shroud.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the in-vehicle temperature sensor.
Keep in mind the definitions:
* ECM = Electronic Control Module (prior 1995 computer, OBD1)
* PCM = Powertrain Control Module (1995 and newer, OBD2)
Ford Freestyle 2005 - Powertrain Control Module
The PCM is located in the ine compartment, passenger side,
mounted to the cowl. Removal & Installation procedure:
The heater/airconditioner box under the dash has a drain hose to allow condensation to drain when the air conditioner is running. If this hose gets plugged, rain may accumulate in this box also (if it's raining heavily), as it comes in through the fresh air intake.
Look on the engine side of the firewall, probably on the passenger side, for a hose coming through the firewall that is not connected to anything. It is usually short, has a 90 degree bend, and the open end is down. Make sure that the end of this hose is not plugged.
