SOURCE: How do I reset the oil change light in a 2008 Chevy Suburban

Try this: turn the key to the RUN position (don't start it), press the accelerator to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds. The oil life light should flash twice, indicating that it's been reset.

If you have steering wheel controls, you can navigate to where it says Oil Life and then hold the arrow down, that should also reset the oil life.

SOURCE: i am trying to remove my fuel tank from a 96 chevy suburban and replace the fuel pump

ok i'm going to guess that you have a gasoline engine with a side tank like in a pickup truck. if you have a diesel let me know, things might be a little different. here's the step by step for a gas side tank. before you start, disconnect the battery negative cable.
1. drain the fuel from the tank (they don't tell you how, just get as much out as you can)
2.raise and safely support vehicle (get it high enough that you can get under it to work on it)
3.loosen the fuel neck hose at fuel neck and disconnect filler neck from tank
4.support tank and remove tank support straps and insulator strips
5.remove frame mounted bracket
6.lower fuel tank shield
7.lower fuel tank enough to gain access to fuel and electrical connections
8.disconnect fuel feed and vapor hoses
9.disconnect electrical connectors
10.remove fuel sender assembly and seal ring
now to install new tank
1.install NEW seal ring and install sender
2.raise tank enough to connect fuel feed /vapor hoses and electrical connector
3.raise tank fully
4.install fuel tank shield
5.connect fuel tank filler neck and tighten clamp
CAUTION tighten fuel strap fasteners in steps, alternating between straps, until proper torque is reached. failure to properly follow this step can cause bottom of tank to deform. fuel gauge may read improper level if this occurs
6.install fuel tank brackets and insulator strips
torque nuts to 115 in-lbs
7.install fuel tank filler cap
8.connect battery negative cable
9.turn ignition switch off and on and check for leaks
it's pretty much the same for rear tank, just different location, may have off-road shield in back and torque spec is 47 ft-lbs, not 115 in-lbs. you still have to alternate when you torque straps or you risk deforming tank. hope that helps

SOURCE: how do you remove the fan clutch from the water

The fan clutch comes off counter clockwise, if your at home and stuck working on your truck, I have found that with a long chisel and a hammer you can remove the fan clutch, do not remove the belt that will hold the water pump pulley, set the chisel on the left edge of the nut of the fan clutch hit with the hammer as to loosen will make a dent on the nut but will not damage anything, you might have to hit it some what hard to get it to release don't give up it will come off, we do it here at my repair shop all the time that we saw no need to buy the tool.

Timing chain is loose how do I replace or tighten

You need to pull out the timing cover. 4-6 hours of work. Here is the step to remove the Cover, then you need to remove the Sprockets.
moz-screenshot.pngmoz-screenshot-1.png
  1. Remove the oil pan.
  2. Remove the power steering belt if so equipped.
  3. Remove the air conditioning belt, compressor and bracket if so equipped.
  4. Remove the fan clutch (fluid coupling), with the fan and water pump pulley.
  5. Matchmark and remove the crankshaft pulley(s). This bolt will be very tight. Use the counter-holding bar, properly installed, to hold the crankshaft while loosening the bolt. Use the pulley extractor or gear puller to remove the pulley from the shaft.
  6. Remove the water bypass pipe.
  7. Remove the fan belt adjusting bar. If necessary, remove the lower power steering bracket for access.
  8. Disconnect the heater water outlet pipe.
  9. Unbolt the timing chain cover assembly. Be careful to loosen only the correct bolts.

To install:
  1. Install new gaskets over the dowels on the timing chain cover. Slide the cover assembly over the dowels and pump spline. Insert the retaining bolts and tighten them. Tighten the 8mm bolts to 9 ft. lbs. (13 Nm) and the 10mm bolts to 29 ft. lbs. (39 Nm).
  2. Temporarily install the adjusting bar to the alternator. Install the adjusting bar to the chain cover and tighten the bolts to 9 ft. lbs. (13 Nm).
  3. Install the heater water outlet pipe.
  4. Install the water bypass pipe.
  5. Install the crankshaft pulley and bolt. Use the counter-holding tool to hold the pulley and tighten the bolt to 116 ft. lbs. (157 Nm). If equipped with air conditioning, install the second crankshaft pulley.
  6. Install the water pump pulley and fluid coupling with the fan.
  7. Adjust the tension on the drive belts.
  8. Install the air conditioning compressor bracket, compressor and belt if they were removed.
  9. Install the power steering belt and adjust it.
  10. Attach the oil pan.
  11. Install the radiator.

Water Pump Leaking

the hardest part of this job is removing your fan clutch. you removed your top fan shroud, then your fan clutch, its reverse thread. take off your belt, upper radiator hose and 6 10mm bolts hold it in. clean water pump housing and put all back together. aftermarket water pumps do not come with theermostat, dealer pumps do. remove your belt tensioner from old water pump 3- 15mm bolt, two different sizes and install on your new pump. you need, 10mm socket, 15mm socket, flat head screw driver, pliers to removed hose, fan clutch tool(rent at autoparts store)

How do I remove the fan assembly from the water pump on a 2003 chevy suburban?

You'll need a clutch fan wrench. It's a thin, large open end wrench that is available at most part stores. Place the tool over the large bolt that holds the clutch fan to the water pump and give it a quick hit similating an impact gun. You may have to do this a couple of times, but the clutch fan will come loose and simply unscrew it.
