Remove No 1 spark plug turn engine till compression felt. align mark on crankshaft pully with mark on timing cover , distributer roter now points to No 1 on cap. Firing order 6 cyl 153624 4 Cyl 1342. check which roter turns and connect cables as above
This is the part you need to replace. TP31SB. Just make sure you mark where the roter is in it's entirety. Ie. direction the roter is facing (under the cap) and same place roter is when you unscrew the set bolt.
Misfires are caused by fuel delivery problems, injectors or too rich or weak. Spark issues, coil, wires, spark plugs or the cap and roter. I could also be a loss of compression. First thing to check is the easiest... spark plugs, spark and cap and roter. Also the cheapest.
if i understand u correctly u replaced the distributor and cap if so i would start with making sure my pick up coil was installed correctlyand or replace it.i also would look at the possibility of it being a powertrain control module or neutral safety switch if this vehicle is equipt with one. hope ive been helpful
You may need a intake manifold gasket. If it puts prestone in the cylinders then it will be a ***** to start. You also need to check check the fuel filter.
Check for possible vacuum leak, maybe a hose off or partially broken. Make sure your firing order is correct when reconnecting those wires to the new cap.
