Toyota 4 runner error code PE 0446 what is the problem?

I have 1987 toyota 4runner model and I keep servicing and when needed repair it on my own. worth it !!!

There is probably a way to access codes by using a jumper and causing the engine checklight or an integral led to flash in groups. I can't say which pin or pins need jumping.

Reading about air fuel ratio on this. It points to an O2 sensor replacement. Emission parts are often forgotten, Yet are extremely important to these trucks performance. Any car really.

so why not scan it first and wonder 2nd.

back in 1992 , DIY you have only blink codes.
my guess is the VSS CODE is set and the VSS is in fact dead.

first check radiator level if it is full and the heater is working good make sure temp gauge is functioning c orrectly it is most likely the coolant temp sensor but if this is a high milage vehicle and you have owned long time and never changed i would also replace thermostat and check plug to temp sensor forr good conections and good wires

a lot of times, this is the gas cap not being put on tightly (one of the codes) you do still have to have a scanner to turn the light out, then see what codes come up

look at the plug wires they are known to bust when old near the boot

You need to reset the light with a scan tool, the same one you used to read the code in the first place.
