The brake line screws into the back of the drum or caliper depending on if you have disc or drum brakes, it also screws into the metal line coming up the axle. Unscrew it at both ends and replace it with the new one. You will then have to bleed or get the air out of the new line. Make sure that the master cylinder under the hood is full, then have someone sit in the car and press the brake pedal down while you loosen the bleed screw, located in the same area of the line, before they let the pedal back up make sure you close the bleeder screw. Do this a few times til nothing but fluid comes out, top off the master cylinder and you are good to go. Good luck and dont forget to rate.

You will need a special tool for the back brakes,Autozone will loan it to you for 60 bucks,you will get it back when you return,I used it.I replaced brake pads front and back and both back rotors.The driver side rear had metal on metal,all disc brakes,brake pads on that rear side were completely worn down to metal,the driver side was like new,kept wondering why,replaced both rear rotors,put back together,then then I noticed where brake line hose went into brake caliber was leaking,so that caused the side with new like brake pads not to be gripping disc putting all brake pressure of that one side,so the copper fitting their was bad,put new one on and leak stopped.

-Fill to level. start your car and pump 6 to 7 times.
Q: Any presure?
A: Not at all or only little.
Turn car off/ Check under the car any leaking brake fluid?
A: Yes . Found the leaking.>> Repalce it.
A: No don't see any leak.
Okay the leak is Inside the Wheel Cylinder at rear wheels. or possibly front brake caliper piston.
If so Replace new one.

1999 buick century brake pedal goes to floor-put new master cylinder on and blead both brake lines and master cylinder and pedal still goes to floor
Sounds like you may have a hydraulic leak somewhere. Check the rear wheel cylinders and front brake hoses going to the calipers.

I would go with not bled correctly

The booster should hold up with a hard pedal until
you start the engine, then vacuum causes it to move
down when pressing on the brake

if something goes wrong with abs the brake system it reverts back to standard system!! If you can pump brake pedal up and hold it and start engine and it drops thats normal.You say low pedal if you go 15mph on road and check where pedal is when brakes apply.Power brakes will push aLMost to floor while stopped but while moveing you`ll almost go to slide or will go into slide if pedal is pushed to floor.Get on some gravel at 10 mph and hit brakes to a complete stop get out and check to see if all 4 tires slid or 2 front or only 2 rear. this will get you closer to problem good luck.

Hose leaking brake fluid. under drivers side . just put in new brakes and rotors
If the brake calipar was left hanging by the hose instead of being tied up,that puts a strain on the hose and the brake line causing it to crack or break. The hose needs to be replaced, and the brake system bled of air.

My 1989 z24 cavalier is leaking brake fluid out of the back right brake line. The brakes don't work and I need to get this fixed. What are some cheap ways to fix this leak?
the only cheap reliable way is to find what part of the line is leaking and go to either side where you can find good clean line (not rusty) and cut on each side, buy the correct size compression fittings on each side and then put the amount of brake line needed between the compression fittings and then bleed the brakes. really not that difficult with a general knowledge on how to put together a puzzle and a tubing cutter (small) and a couple wrenches.

I need a new brake booster for my 89 LeSabre T Type. I i don't know if I need the entire thing or just the cylinder. I have no pressure with my brakes, even with the brake fluid full. I know i have a leak...
booster rarely go bad and when they do they make a vacuum sound in the car see if vac hose is going to booster from top back of engine 2 booster if that is got vac . but the leak in the brake line is a bigger danger and you cannot diagnose the master or booster with out fixing that leak first &bleading the brakes
