THese models came with both options this was right around time switching to dis was going on.if it is a dis system it will have square looking coil packs and distributor will have a round cap just follow plug wires and look at it.

Does it have any pressure from the spark plugs? Take out a spark plug, and a tool that can measure the pressure from the pistons. I myself used my finger, it won't hurt you if there is no pressure, but if that is not the problem, the pressure could hurt your finger. But do try that or let a mechanic check for the pressure to the spark plugs.

look for tiny hole around it and stick a pin in it to release

Most likely bad wheel bearings or struts (shocks). If you never replaced them, I would say the struts are bad causing the alignment problem ( toe or camber) to your wheels.

Have you used a fuel pressure gauge to insure you are getting correct pressure? Just hearing the pump run is not enough.

Hello: If this is a 4cylinder engine with the distributor on the back of the engine (toward the passenger compartment) I would rebuild/replace the distributor. Including distributor cap and rotor.

try turning the key while trying to turn steering wheel one way an then the other.they get in bilnd an some times you have ro turn it oneway or the other to get key to turn dont be to gentle

Chains don't jump very often. IF it did then it would be enough to not allow the engine to run. The issue is most likely a worn chain or gears. This will result in back fire, hard to start and sluggish behavior.

If it has a timing chain and its slipped then there will be all sorts of trouble. It may not run, there will be lots of noise and basically you are in for a major rework. Timing chains in a well maintained engine will do upwards of 200k miles. The timing chain is kept tight by spring tensioners and oil pressure. Why do you think there is a problem? You don't say what the symptoms are? Are you sure its got a chain and not a belt?
