My 2009 saturn vue won't start and key is stuck in ignition. I tried moving the steering wheel and checked the shifter but nothing.

Jump the battery. If it gets to low, the solenoid for the key won't work and release the key. Just a note. If it is that low replace the battery. Have it checked first, but most likely dead.

Key will not stay in the active running postion. the car will start and run fine as long as i hold the key in the forward position. once i release the key is rocks into the a postion where the electricity...

Try spraying some penetrating oil into the key hole. If that does not help you will unfortunately have to replace the lock part of the ignition. To do this you have to strip all the cowling around the lock, insert the key and place it in the ACC position (most probably but could be another position). Look for a tongue or dowel that can be depressed so that the lock section can be pulled out of its housing.
