X-type. Can't get key fob or key to unlock boot. Central locking not functioning either

Key fob suddenly won't activate / de-activate the doorlocks or boot. Can't find any means of access to the shopping. Thankfully, no perishables involved...or beer. Manual use of key only locks / unlocks driver door. It should also unlock boot. tried changing the battery to no avail. Fob battery does not appear to be the issue. help?

.
you might want to check the fuse

That was indeed the problem. The fuse concerned is in the fusebox behind the glovebox. Not the easiest thing to get at, but as the old syaing goes, `necessity is the mother of invention' and needs must.

SOURCE: Jag S-Type -intermitent fault where the remote fob does not work

This does not sound like a fob fault - but a locking control module fault , either in the hardware or software of the unit. Get it checked at a Jaguar dealers. When unlocking using the key - as soon as the door is opened you should hear a chime sounding inside the car - this is a timer counting down to sounding the alarm. If you put your key in the ignition as soon as you open the door the alarm should not go off and the chime should stop. If it does not this again points to a fault in the locking controller.
hope this helps - good luck.

I put central locking on my new Kia Picanto, excludes boot/trunk! I must manually lock boot with ignition key, a security risk and inconvenient. Is this "central locking" when ALL doors don't lock!

No! Central locking means all locks on a vehicle can be locked and unlocked from one lock or by using a remote key fob and not individually.

2005 Bentley GT trunk will not lift or close when remote button pushed. Have plenty of battery power.

does the lock unlock function work? if not you need to reprogram the key fob most likely. does the "B" on the boot(trunk) lid open the trunk? if not but the lock unlock function works on the key fob you most likely need a trunk(boot) motor or latch

I can't open my boot with my key fob???

Check the wiring between the bootlid/tailgate and the car body could well be there's a wire broken, if so just solder the 2 parts of the wire back together and insulate

My passenger door central locking has stopped

Method 1: Press lock or unlock button 4 times in succession. Method 2: Switch ignition ON and OFF. Within 10 seconds press lock and unlock button in succession.
This is the only manual reset
If this does not work go to your local auto electrician
The probable fault could be central locking activator passenger door

1999 Audi A3 1.8T Electric Windows and Central Locking Won't work

will your passenger door open with the key and is it just one side that your windows are not working or both. if its just one side it might be your regulator motor in the door thats not working if its both it might be your central locking pump usually in the boot. however if both of them are working fine it could be that your key needs reprogrammed however i think the 1st 2 are more likely to be the problem.
