Wont rev 3000 rpm

2004 Concorde 3.5L V6. Starts runs perfect. Will not rev past 2350 rpm. Acts like rev limiter. O2 Sensor, Cam and Crank Position sensors new. Fuel Pressure running at 60PSI. Compression test checks out. Recently changed Thermostat and Intake box (before MAF) due to inept mechanic. Shifts perfectly and will eventually get up to 70 MPH. Any Ideas? Thanks

2004 Chrysler Concorde with 3.5L V-6. Will not rev past 2450, does not matter in drive or Neutral/Cold or hot. Throwing codes P0016 Cam/Crank position Correlation Sensor A-Bank 1 and code P0300 - Random/Multiple Cyl. Misfire detected. Recent work: Thermostat replaced, Fuel Injector Cleaner for three tanks of gas, two new O2 sensors, New Crank and New Cam position sensors installed. Tests: Fuel Pressure is solid at 60PSI. Spec is 53-63. Running and not. When the engine gets to 2450 rpm in starts a violent fluctuation that jerks the car. It feels like you are pumping the throttle. Scan tool observations: Fuel system 1 and 2 closed during idle and up to when the surging starts approximately 2400-2500 rpm. When the surging starts one and then both change to open. The engine is still running just surging. The o2 sensors' readings are erratic. The readings from the RPM sensors are very close to each other. I think them reliable. MAP reading seems reliable. Coolant Temp. seems reliable. Ignition timing advances smoothly with engine speed up to the trouble speed. It seems to max out around 40 degrees. Then with increasing pedal position, the advance falls off until, at full throttle, the advance is around 22 degrees. At idle the advance shows 10 degrees. I have no advanced tools such as oscilloscopes and such. I have an OBD-II code scanner. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the IGN Relays? 1,2,and 3?
How did the Battery test out?
Anything below 11.9v battery is dead.
So I suggest that you do not throw any more parts and check the battery again.

SOURCE: car wont start

check your fuel pressure it should be 35 psi .fuel pump relays dont go out but check all fuses with test light there is a fuel injector fuse but most likely problem is your fuel pump!

So many possibilities. But I would look for arcing on the coil packs. Use dialectic paste on all the plug wire connections. Arcing is easiest to see at night.
If it is the purge valve, then opening the gas cap to relieve vacuum will temporarily make it run better.
Look for vacuum leaks.
Temporarily pinch off hoses to see if they are the source of a leak.
Try putting gas dryer in the tank, in case there is water.

If you are revving an engine to 3000 rpm while in neutral then you are engaging the a rev limiter that is there to limit engine damage.

Nothing, you have hit the rev limiter. The up and down is the computer controlling the rpm. If you drive it, it should rev past 3,000. The computer is designed to keep free wheeling rpm to that level. It will only allow a higher rpm if vehicle is in gear and moving with a load.

P1613 fault code & engine will not rev over 3000 rpm when you get to 3000rpm it then fluctutated between 2500 rpm & 3000 rpm causing the car to buckaroo

Crank sensor or engine speed sensor is faulty.

Fault:
Irregular power loss on accelerating
The speed of the engine is limited till 2500rpm
Frequent loss of crankshaft position sensor signal

Cause:
It is caused due to leaking from thermostat housing into crankshaft position sensor harness multi-plug

Remedy:
Check and clean the crankshaft position sensor harness multi-plug contacts. Rectify the engine coolant leak from the thermostat housing if found. Take a note of the engine coolant level and monitor it for changes, showing a leak is indeed occurring.
