When the Service engine soon, ABS and TRAC lights are turned on at the same time the computer control units for the engine and the ABS/TRAC systems has sensed a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system and the ABS and Traction Control system (part of the ABS system). When this happens you will seldom feel the car engine run any different or the car drive any different. There are about 200 possible faults that turn the Check Engine light on, the fault in your car is likely a part called the VSS sensor to know for sure what the problem is you must have the system tested; Kragen and Autozone parts stores do this testing for free

It's most likely going to be the wheel speed sensor which is located at the wheel bearing. when they become disconnected or the wire breaks your abs and traction light will come on and something your check engine light.

It is one of your wheel bearings. The problem is easily solved by taking the car to a dealer, or having a code reader, and determining which wheel bearing is bad. The wheel bearing is under $150 and should be installed by someone with some muscle, as the bolts are torqued from the factory extremely tight in a tight location. The wheel bearing have all of your sensors for abs built into them and if that sensor goes out your computer tells the abs and traction control to shut down, hence you get the lights on on the dash.

I have this same problem and had it checked. It is the wheel sensor. Mine is the passenger front right wheel sensor. According to the mechanic I take it to the GrandAm's are known for this. The part is about $40.

Sorry tina , but you are going to need a new "cluster assembly" most likely.The cluster assembly is the dash instrument panel with all the gauges behind the clear lens. As an ex-pontiac technician of 13 years , pretty much every one of these with more than one light remaining on after start-up is going to need an "exchange" cluster. What the G.M. dealer does is removes the cluster from the car and "swaps" it with another one that has been refurbished-not always do they have a local authorized repair source though. I know the going exchange rate on these units is about $250.00. Hopefully they don't mark it up too much from there. I recommend you have it professionally checked out and diagnosed as you could also have an ABS code which could illuminate the trac off , abs light and check engine light simultaneously. ABS light is on & Trac off light is on. Transmission does not seem to be shifting with any problem. What should I look for?

The problem is probably the wheel hub bearings and it is more that likely the front. I had the same problem a few weeks on my 00 grand am gt. Connected the car to the tester it gave me a code for left front wheel bearing. I replace both wheel bearings because i figured what the hell they both have the same amount of miles on them. Taaadaaa no more lights!!! Hope this solves your problem.
