Check out "Eco drive", some cars have function "torn off engine" during stop when turning on future "Eco drive", no matter how long you stop (city friendly).

Under what conditions? Sitting stopped with engine running? Sitting stopped with engine OFF, transmission in park, but heater / AC blower running? Driving down a highway in a straight line? Driving on a highway, in a gradual curve? Driving in high winds, such as a tornado or hurricane? Driving BACKWARDS?

There are a lot of things that can cause this, start with a scan of the engine electronices.

The stop light has a bad ground.
-Check the stop light 's wire and reconnect the ground to a good clean
metal surface.

You should not drive a car if the check engine light comes on and you do not know what the problem is. In some cases the check engine light means a serious problem and I know could cost a lot of money to repair. Mine came on and cost $800 dollars to repair as I tried to drive it.

I had the same problem, went to garage when it did start again they said no problem nothing we can do just keep driving

If its the 3.0 diesel it could be the rail oil pressure sensor starting to pack up .
