Manual door lock won't lock

Freezing cold, the door doesn't lock . Issue happened once before and finally got it locked by slamming. Now that doesn't work either. Not power door locks, manual!

There are linkeage bars inside door that has weaker plastic clips that may be loose or broken. Removing interior car door panel will allow inspection.

SOURCE: 1998 Jeep Cherokee Internal locks and power locks Not working.

Open the door panels and lube all of your lock mechanisms. They tend to get stuck and it harms the locking motor. After I lube mine up, they freely move. Just spray some lithium grease and manually lock and unlock the door with the rocker until it moves very easily. You'll probably have to do this once a year like I do.

SOURCE: keyless entry won't work

I have a 1999 BMW E46 I have had a problem with the keyless entry myself. I brought the car to BMW Dealer and they told me that my Lock had an issue and that they need to repair some wiring wich would cost me $1,023.98 to find out that it was a fuse that burned out. I have replaced the 5 amp fuse with another one but it burned the fuse again so I put a 10 amp fuse and i have not had a problems since. In my car is fuse # 54 if Im not mistaken. But waht you can do is open the fuse box which is located in your glove compartment look for a diagram that shows you which fuse is where it will give you a fuse name a number where the fuse is located and how many amps fuse it is.

SOURCE: Power door locks won't unlock + tailgate won't open

your issue involves the master control switch panel on the drivers side and or the passenger side as well some how the contact inside the switch assembly has either shorted out or no longer makes contact for the unlock side of the circuit. replace the drivers side panel switchs it's either a series of switc hs or mostimes one sigle board of switchs. you are better off going to an auto parts store rather than a GM dealership this will save you quite a bit on cash on the parts. now as to the rear tailgate. if it is electronic controled and there is an issue with the master switch you can,t manually unlock it because of a safty issue built in the system. you can manually unlock the passenger compartment doors for thew same reasons of safety but doesn't apply to the tailgate. just replace the parts and this will take care of the problem

Why my doors dont lock when im driving 2015 ford f 150

I've had a strange issue with my drivers door the last week. I go out and unlock my door with wireless clicker. Then I reach in put the key in the ignition start the truck, make sure the defrost is on. Then I step away and slam the door, 'bump',,, I look back, the door did not click shut, again I slam the door 'bump'..it does not click shut. Bump Bump Bump...I try to shut it...then I reach in and push the lock/unlock button , lock/unlock...lock/unlock...on the door..click..click...it does beep or the horn toots..remember trucks key is in ignition , truck running, and I'm clicking the button on the inside of the door. Finally the door will shut and hold closed , once it was not locked,,,once it was shut and locked. I had to get my other set of keys to unlock the door.

Drivers door is locked. (Manual locks) Will not unlock or open with either the key or by pulling up on the lock lever inside the car.

You probably jarred the locking linkage loose, not fun getting the door panel off to repair it. You could try squirting some down between the panel towards the locking mechanism to see it will free up.

The shoulder harness doesn't move.

Slamming the door may have shaken something loose in the inertia reel assembly (the part which locks up the belt).

In most States you aren't supposed to try to repair it, which is why that does not appear in workshop manuals. It is best to fit a replacement assembly, and again in many areas this is supposed to be a new one, rather than one from a car wreckers yard (which has been crashed).

Driver Door won't unlock

Its probably froze if you live in a cold state. If that is the case you can get some lock de-icer and put that in where the key goes or if you have a remote start and the heat happens to be on then it might thaw it that way.

97 jetta doors won't lock

I assume the doors can be manually locked. The problem is in the electrical circuit. That means anything from a faulty switch (the lock / Unlock button) to a loose connection. If both switches don't work then look for a blown fuse. If one switch works and the other doesn't than remove the switch and inspect its connection. If it's ok then check the switch. If both switch and connections are OK then you'll have to remove the door panel and access the lock mechanism.

Please help! My key Fob will lock all the doors on my 2006 VW Passat. It will only lock three of the doors and leave the passenger side unlocked...When I manually lock the passenger side door...it...

Sounds like you have a bad door lock actuator or one of the lock rods has come loose and is in a bind. Can you hear any noise from the door lock actuator in that door when you operate the power door locks? If not, you probably need to replace the actuator. The hardest part will be getting the door panel off without damage. Once the door panel is off, it should be fairly easy to replace the lock actuator even if it comes with the entire latch assembly.
