Check the temperature switch, which is mounted on the rear of the cylinder head (driver side, upper engine area), and also the cooling fan control. Both of these signal when the cooling fan should come on, and it sounds like it's kicking on too late.

Here are a couple of suggestions. Make sure the thermostat is mounted in the correct direction. If you don't care if your heater works you can probably even remove the thermostat completely. I live in warm state and I drove a car for several years without a thermostat. You might try using a synthetic oil or adding something like Slick 50 to your oil to help reduce friction and the heat generated by your engine. Maybe your water pump is not circulating the coolant correctly. Check the belt tension.

I HAVE A 1992 HONDA ACCORD, THE WATER IN MY CAR IS BOILING, AND IT IS CAUSING MY CAR TO SMOKE. JUST REPLACED THE HOSES ON MY CAR 2 WEEKS AGO

The water is boiling because your car is overheating. Does your tempature gauge read hot or warm? Make sure your coolant level is full. If it is and your vehicle still overheats check to make sure your cooling fan is coming on (fan by radiator) you can do this by just letting your car run and waiting to hear it come on. It should come on before your tempature gauge reads hot. DO NOT let your car run until the temp gauge reads hot. These cars have aluminum cylinder heads and can warp causing serious problems. The cooling fan should come on for a few minutes then shut off and continue to do this. If it stays on, first make sure your A/C is switched off, second if it does not turn off and your temp continues to rise then you have other problems. You may have a bad thermostat, sticking closed. The water pump could be bad or a blocked radiator. If your coolant level is good, your fans are coming on like they should then you might try have your coolant system flushed. Those are some things you can try that are simple and not expensive. If they don't work then you'll have to start looking at other items in the coolant system. Hope that helps, gl.

2002 kia sportage temp gauge runs hot while driving

Cheak to see that the coolant fan is operating with the A/C turned on. The fan has to work to help the engine stay cool and help the A/C. When you apply heat on the control it acts to reduce the coolant temp. You will have to get the coolant fan operation checked. This can be :fan motor, fan relay, temp sensor and computer. Good luck

Engine overheats when heater pipes connected

I think you could be right about there being air trapped in the system.
Or the heater core(radiator) is plugged.
Either way you need a pressurized radiator coolant pump to put the coolant in without air being trapped.
Although,i have seen it done by jacking the vehicle up high enough that the radiator was now higher than the heater core level, and then the coolant was put in.
But this is dangerous to try.

Overheating engine: termo guage at the middle during idle

The Temp gauge should read in the middle of the gauge at operating temperature. This is normal. The radiator fan should come on after idling (not driving) for 20 minutes. The fan should also come on when you turn on the AC. Are you experiencing overheat problems?
Please reply if you have overheating issues.
