How to remove brake bulbs

Brake lights out on 2008 hyndia elantra fuse is good. Need to know how bulbs come out

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

hi from uk are you saying all the brake lights are not working ?? if so may i suggest your problem may not be bulbs ? but the actual brake light switch not operating correctly? either stuck plunger in off position ? or the switch is defective these do fail/burn contacts due to constantly holding pedal down instead of using parking brake if held up for long periods in traffic easy diy to check/renew however if you verify the above as to which bulb/s not working can offer more info/advice

When I press the brake pedal only the left brake light comes on. The bulbs are good and the fuses are all good. Replace the right light modual but still no help. this is on a 2008 Dodge Nitro

How do you know the bulb is good? Even if it uses the same bulb as the tail light it is always a different filiment. But if you tried replacing the bulb and the fuse than it has to be the wiring. If it's a 2008 it should be covered by the warranty, I would bring it into the dealer.

My brake lights are not working on my 2008 Hyundai Elantra.

No brake lights and the fuse is good

remove wires from switch and bridge them , and check if brake lights come on, if so switch is faulty ( assuming bulbs are ok)

Did you replace the correct lights? are you positive they were the brake lights? There is a little tester you can buy that you pust against the fuse if it is good a light on the tester lights up green. You can get them at almost any automotive store.

My 06 Elantra's brake lights won't come on. Bulbs

The brake sensor switch is located on the brake pedal. If fuses and bulbs are ok it should be the switch.
