P1450 EVAP Control System Fault, P1450 Unable To Bleed Up Fuel Tank Vacuum.
These are Emmision system faults, the can be as simple as the gas gap on the filler spout is not correct placed, or is missing. It can also indicate other issues with the fuel system from
gas tank to injection. Sometime replacing the gas gap with a correct new one solve the problem.
Here is what I found for code explanations: P1450 Self test detected excessive fuel tank vacuum P2195 O2 sensor signal stuck P144a possible canister purge valve problem
Hi there: The first thing that I suggest could be replace the gas cap; also check a possible defective EVAP (Evaporative Emission Canister Vent solenoid). HEREthe instructions.
DTC P1450 - Unable to Bleed Up Fuel Tank Vacuum Monitors the fuel vapor vacuum and pressure in the fuel tank. The system failure occurs when the EVAP running loss monitor detects excessive fuel tank vacuum with the engine running (but not at idle).
Keep in mind that, if problem persists you will need a smoke machine to properly diagnose.
Your code is for a fault in the EVAP purge sloenoid system.
The smoke and moisture out the tail pipe is normal. The purge solenoid may be stuck open causing fuel vapors to enter the engine on cold start. This will give you a rich fuel smell. The engine normally runs rich on cold start up.
The EVAP purge solenoid is a common failure. Here is a diagnosis pinpoint test to perform on the EVAP system for your fault code. The first thing would be replace the gas cap, or a possible defective Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Solenoid, ( Click Here for Instructions ) if problem persists you will need a good smoke machine to properly diagnose.
1450 is a manufacturer specific code. Take it to a dealer for repair.
