Miss firing i have a UK fiesta 1.4 zetec and its miss firing,it sounds ok when its on tick over until you tap the gas then it pops a few times,and after a while it sounds like its going to cut out.I have changed the pulgs and the H T cables and its still doing it ? can u help me please.

You have a few things here.

Ticking is normally two things
1. The fan belt ticking as the join in the belt runs of the crankshaft pulley.
2. Valve lifter tappets can tick.

Neither of the above are particularly worrying.

The pop and sound like you have no exhaust is likely to be either a hole in the exhaust, a joint that has popped, or a hole in the flexible pipe that goes to the catalytic converter. You should be able to see this underneath with a flashlight with the truck ticking over.

Plug wires, as long as you didn't move them, all should be well.

Hesitation. Try cleaning the Throttle body and MAF sensor. Possibly check the spark plug condition and gap. Do them one a time.

Sounds to me like a fuel delivery problem. When throttle opened quickly it's starving for fuel. Open throttle slowly it's just using what it gets. Could be as little as the fuel filter is clogged and needs replaced. Could also be throttle body needs cleaned or only needs adjusted. It's definitely not electrical or firing system.

Fuse box is located in the glove compartment. Empty the glove compartment, then the side will pop out for access to the fuses.

Battery Cables may need to Cleaned and put back on There not making Contack,OK...

Sounds like your air flow meter is faulty.Have it changed.That should solve the problem for you good luck m8.

dealer only ,pinking is caused by timing being thrown out and its firing too early,by your spelling i asume your in the UK which means that your vehicle hasnt got an OBDII connector ,only fitted to vehicles after 2005 in europe so a cheap scanner wont help .Exactly whats playing up i havent a clue without plugging it in ,if you are in the UK have a middle of scate /chips /and nice big wally for me please

The battery could be slightly weak, making the computer go on the fritz, try a fresh battery!!!! The rev counters bounce often with a weak battery.

try running redex through the system then change the fuel filter to rule out a blocked line

You will need to double check you timing.Did you do the head or mechanic?You may have left a vacuum hose off
