I have a Mitsubishi lancer glx 4g13 year 2004 and door ajar lights does not light up when door is open nor door open buzzer rings. Door sensors works since dome light works with door. Can anyone help please

The door ajar switch is likely defective, it senses the door is open ad turns on the coutesy lights as well as alerts you to the fact the door is open and the key is on (door "ajar").

There is no fuse it is a ground circuit that sends a ground signal to the body control module, the BCM then turns on the light and the buzzer warning. The sensor is on the latch inside the door. The vehicle has 6 of them. You can have the system scanned/read to see which door or rear hatch switch(s) is causing the problem

Its a thick pin surrounded by a rubber ring/bellows that is in the doorframe of each door. Each pin operates a switch. When the door closes it presses the pin in and when it opens the pin slides out so it protrudes into the door frame. Open each door one at a time and press in the pin with something strong like a shoe heel, this simulates that door being closed. Do it several times, till you find which switch is not working all the time. Change that switch by removing the rubber surround and unscrewing its fasteners.

The door ajar sensor that is causing the problem is located on the door latch mechanism inside the door. Yes they do have a sticking issue that is why you have this problem.

This problem is caused by one of the door ajar sensing switches being defective, it is a common fault in Many Ford cars and light trucks. Each door has a switch and two at the tail gate door. The switches are attached to the side of the door latch and very hard to replace, since you would most likely have to detrim at least two doors to find the bad switch the most prudent thing to do is have the dealer scan the door ajar waring system, the scan will indicate exactly which switch has the problem.

The door switch is stuck on or the wire is shorted to ground.

What happens when you remove both switches, and wires? What happens when you use a jumper wire acros both wires, on both doors?

inside the doors is a Small twist in button switch on the door latch assembly that turns on the doom and key buzzer, they stick and make a poor connection, this causes your problem, i have replaced 100's of them, u will have to detrim the door to get at it. The switch is about $10 and u can get it from most parts stores, here is a picture. remember there is one on each door latch.

is there any type of check engine light on or any type of warning light is the sound of the bell the same bell sound when you open your door or seatbelt warning

Ok...several issues,and you won't believe this.......The 4 wheel drive is controlled by the Body computer,thats right,there is a computer that monitors and instructs Body functions like the door ajar sensors.Well,i just finished reading a technical article on a FORD that had no 4 wd,and the transfer case controller would not allow 4wd operation because the BODY computer sensed a door ajar,so 4wd operation was inhibited.They fixed the door ajar problem,a door sensor,the door ajar light went out on the dash,and the 4wd started working again...OK.....Check engine light is the vehicle computer that controls engine and transmission functions(PCM) has detected an error with a system.When this happens,the computer stores a diagnostic trouble code.Have the codes pulled with a scan tool or code reader.Repair the codes,and the Check Engine light will go out.The power windows,i honestly don't know,but HEY...2 out of 3 ain't bad!!
