Van just instantly died I noticed security light on I got new key from dealership did the 10 min -trick still won't start, has fuel but guage doesnt work and says low fuel... it did not cough, sputter, or act like a fuel problem. it just died as i was backing out of parking space

SOURCE: Engine will start and rough idle but dies when either the brakes are applied or the lights are turned on!

have you checked out your fuel filter? I had my 2003 denali do the same type of problem and it turned out to be a very dirty fuel filter.

SOURCE: shuts off while driving. no fuel pressure. pcm fuse blows/ fuel pump relay inserted.

Sounds like the fuel pump is shorted.

The theft light issue is a good observation. Have you replaced the key tumbler or an ignition component lately? Has there been a lightning storm close very recently?

What the flashing security light is indicating is an attempt to relearn the key you are using.
Turn the key to run position, allow light to flash for 10 minutes, when light stops flashing turn ignition to OFF position for 5 seconds, turn ignition to run position and start over. Do this for 3 consecutive cycles, the the theft system will relearn the key cylinder code and store it once again.
Try that first before you go any further.

Might be fuel pump, or filter is pluged up, best to chg. filter and then do a fuel pressure test.

SOURCE: have 2001 GMC Yukon XL, and noticed fuel guage

the fuel pump is inside the tank and i have seen trucks that the pump wiring harnes inside goes bad! when you turn the key on you should hear the pump running,if not i bet it is the wiring inside
