I have had this happen many times check for pulse to crank sensor if new sensor and no pulse the most likly problem is the pully. it seams to get magnetfied and won.t allow pulse go to the junk yard and get another one and pop it on it's a cheap fix and usually is the prob.

Replace ignition module. Engine computer is related only to the fuel injectors. Spark is only controlled by ignition module. Make sure that you replaced the prom chip inside the computer when you did your switch as well.

Could be another sensor. These vans have like 2 or 3 sensors for most thing.
Or could be you need to reset the brain/mother board.
Hope this helps, good luck.

Fuel pumps cause this issue as well. test fuel pressure. refer to a haynes manual for correct pressure specs. Also be sure all vacuum lines are good. Toyotas are bad about vacuum leaks causing running issues.

I would be thinking that there is a good chance that you need to be checking out replacing the computer, if you aren't getting any communication with the proper scan tool then the computer isn't communicating with anything in the vehicle...... I would have guessed first off that the ignition control module might be bad but that is obviously part of the computer also, I would be looking in that direction.

99 saturn will carnk but won't start

try cranking engine while holding gas pedal to the floor, this turns off the fuel injectors to clear excess fuel from cyls. eng my just be flooded. may need to crank for a long time. if engine starts do not let off gas until you are sure eng will run on its own.
