1993 Suburban problem

When I am driving on the freeway and I apply pressure to the gas pedal to pass my engine bogs down and I lose about 10 miles and my car does a slight jerking motion. I kept gassing and letting off and a couple of times it seemed to work and my mileage went back to normal. It only did it once or twice in the past month now today it was my entire drive 14+ miles.

Has the fuel filter been service in the past 30K, if not you should replace it. Also, check the fuel pressure and let me know. Could be a fuel pump issue.
Let me know.

My car does the same thing. The fuel pump has recently been replaced and this didn't solve the problem.

The problem is most likely in the vacuum booster. It has a valve inside when slight pressure is applied to the pedal, applies vacuum boost to the master cylinder aiding the operator in braking. If you notice applying the brakes several times with the engine off, the pedal will harden in the same fashion. With a malfunctioning internal valve the booster can apply the vacuum boost when not needed.

Bogs down on acceleration

buy 2 fuel filters. buy can of SEAFOAM at parts store. use 1 f filter to replace old one(you'll probably see old looking gas, with an odor).Pour SEAFOAM into tank. fill up with PREMIUM gas. after about 100 miles change out fuel filter 1 last time..add SEAFOAM every 3-5000 miles and you should be fine. the ethanol in the gas turns to goop and adds water to your fuel, and puts carbon on your valves and through out your emission and fuel system. The ethanol will be alright as long as you follow these instructions. and the SEAFOAM will keep you from having line freeze up in the cold months ahead, and will give you better gas mileage. good luck.

first thing i would do i would check fuel pressure if you have good fuel pressure then the next thing i would unbolt the exhaust from the exhaust manafold and then try to start engine if the engine starts up and runs fine then you have clogged up exhaust converters

Accelaration loss of power

I'd have a fuel pressure test done to be sure, it isn't fuel related again. Takes 5 or 10 minutes so cost should be minimal. The other thing that comes to mind is a plugged exhaust. (catalytic converter) Quite possible on a 10yr.old vehicle.

Car began to lose power while on freeway then stopped

Sounds like the alternator is going bad and killing the battery.

Loss of Power at Freeway Speeds

Sounds like itr is not getting enough fuel. Try or check the fuel filter for dirt or water, and also check the fuel pump pressure to see if it meet factory specs.
