you can but you would need to attempt to diagnose this problem when the vehicle is acting up. You would need to check for power and ground at the window motor/regulator assembly, they have a tendency to go through window switches and regulators so before changing both i would get a good test light. Wait for the problem to start and probe one of the wires while moving the switch up and down, if you dont get power at either direction its the switch, if you do its the regulator.
happy motoring

if it works intermittanly then its not the fuse. In my opinion its 1 of 3 things. Either first the power connector going from the fuse to the window has a loose connection. 2 the switch itself has failed thus working intermittanly. 3 the motor is failing on the window. This should be the first 3 places you check but if you want to check the fuse its located in the high current fuse box in the engine compartment. An is D and is a 40a fuse. If you need further assistance please let me know, Thanks, Midwest-tek

The most common problem with Cabrio auto windows is the Window regulator. Each window has it's own. My wife also owns a 2002 Cabrio, that had a mis-behaving window driver window and the passenger was locked in the up position. After inspecting the drivers window, I found one of the cable roller guides was broken, causing the cable to snag when using the window open / close, and resulting in the window seeming to have a mind of it's own. I had a local garage order the regulator for me, and then I disassembled the drivers door and installed the new regulator (problem is now solved).
The passenger window was bound up, I also had to remove the regulator and let loose the tension in the cable system by carefully removing the cover over the cable roller. This window works fine now as well.
