2002 mercury mountaineer

one simple thing it could be is that with all wheel drive's it's critical that the owner keep all the same model and size tire on all four corner's and this is the tough one they gotta have the same (and correct) air pressure in them, the sensors for the power split for AWD does not cope well with these simple things not all the same and will cause what i have Knick named " Chuckwaggoning" as it feels as your car is now a wooden wagon on the oregon trail if you have it . other than that ck for fault codes in ecm with code checker it might tell you a wheel sensor is faulted .

CAUTION: Transaxle side seals are cut by spline teeth.

Install hoist type transmission jack and wooden block under the transmission/engine. Be certain the transmission is safely balanced on the hoist.

Remove nut that attaches crossmember to engine mount.

Loosen stabilizer bar mounts to allow adequate clearance for crossmember to be removed.

Remove following brackets to allow starter assembly to pass through bottom:

tubular support bracket - engine to transaxle

angled support bracket - driveshaft bracket to engine mount

manifold collector stay - (bottom bolts)

Loosen top bolts, remove bracket above driveshaft-holding bracket 14mm.

How to change front brake rotor on 2000 ford taurus wagon cause front wheel shake when brake apply

Remove both caliper mounting bolts should be 12 or 13 mm bolts. Next remove both caliper mounting bracket bolts 15mm. Rotor should then pull off. If not use large hammer and hit the face off the rotor hub between the wheel studs until it comes loose. Make sure the face of the wheel hub is free of rust between the wheel studs and use high temp anti seize around the center circle of the wheel studs.

2005 VW Jetta TDI Wagon: Left brake light doesn't

Very difficult. You have to open the inside access door on the drivers side, remove the amp and wheel well cover, pinch the tabs and the bulb cluster will release. The taillight assembly is bolted from inside of the car, so it can't be done outside.

I have 1990 Jeep grand Wagoneer and i was wondering is their a switch are a plug that you can disconnect the 4-wheel drive in any kind of way

Power for both front and rear come through the transfer case. Even when the front is not engaged, part of the unit still needs to turn to put power to the rear wheels. Therefore, you can't just shut it off. It is possible to remove the transfer case, replace the tailshaft of the transmission and find or have a driveshaft made to convert it to two wheel drive but it likely would be more complicated and expensive than repairing whatever is broken now.

                Subaru legacy wagon

This problem is usually caused when the transfer solenoid/valve assembly goes bad, it's located in the transmission extension housing & needs to be replaced. it can be done without removing the transmission.
